Gemma is a recolored version of Tama with blue clothing and hair to represent /gem/, as such, the majority of OC made from her are just recolored versions of Tama fanart. She became a topic of contention due to increase controversies involving /gem/ over cord allegations and post Second Great Soysurgency. Due to the exclusive nature of the board, it's unclear whether she was created by actual gempassers or if it was a psyop falseflag by anti-/gem/ soyteens to portray /gem/ users as shemmycuck esque gooners. Nevertheless, Gemma became somewhat popular sitewide and often posted on the nu-/qa/ and spammed on /soy/ as bait.
The Gempasser Perspective[edit | edit source]
Various gempassers claims that they are not responsible for the Gemma spam. They would eventually adopt Gemma as a meme due to the successful bait they pulled off on /pol/
at first she wasn't even used for bait but as a successful attempt to steal one of the Shemmy's mascots being Tama (that unironically was being used as bait before this) since gempassers wanted to erase any traces
of the shemmy since nusoicacas were always mistaking them as splinterfags.
The fated day where Gemma got her status as bait was from an infamous thread that originated in the clitty leakage HQ named /pol/, the thread started as pajeets being ran over by trains or dying from the stupidest ways ever,
the OP confessed that thread's purpose wasn't about pajeets being harmed but a huge #gem bait attempt to rile up everyone from that board (which was being flooded by 4cuck /pol/ users since it was shortly after the great cuckset) and shortly after
they were comfortable enough it was being brigaded by the entire IRC #gem user base (10 bored soyteens) and to make it even better they choosed to spam Gemma while having their gempass flags turned up. something that wasn't expected was the thread somehow surpassing 1000+ reppys and also that some polcacas drawfags started making their own Gemma OC's which some of them could be seen in the page's gallery,

the thread got even worse by the time until some drawcacas started making EPI and NSFW fanart of Gemma and also one specific furfagfied drawing that enraged every polcaca in the thread, ultimately jannies were forced to move the thread
to /gem/ so it wouldn't generate any more seethe (some 'teens assumed that mustard or BBQ moved it from pol) which also for some reason was the tipping point of janiggers to ultimately remove UID's because they though
it was a way to namefag without being punished.
