Heh. I realize this was tweeted in jest, but see my reply to @RpgMatch (especially Parts 10, 11, and the last few) for the in-game reason it's a "fortress-city."

Heh. No, in this case, Aglarond had to fortify it early on, to hold it against Thay. The entire eastern border of "human" Aglarond became a defensive line against Thay. #Realmslore
