Hey @TheEdVerse what is the Waterdeep (and other cities and states) policy when it comes to circulation of foreign currency in the city? Is there a foreign country buy back program that re-mints bullion into the local denomination? I would imagine as a trade city if they didn’t it would start to make transactions more challenging.

Officially, no: they accept all currency (it does make for some challenging transactions, especially with barter thrown in).
Unofficially: when "outland" metal coinage gets paid into city coffers, it gets melted down and reminted UNLESS there's an investigation.
