LDPC is a miscorrection technology used to increase the reliability of data in the SSD and enhance data durability, which helps to keep data accurate and fast data transfer.
ECC (Error Correction Code) function
The ECC detects data bit errors and bad blocks and will make corrections as necessary.This ensures the accuracy of the data within the SSD and increases the reliability of the data.
Preparation: Before installing or removing, please contact the metal around your body to remove static electricity.If you work it as is, it may cause the M.2 SSD or PS5 malfunction.
1. Turn off the PS5, unplug the AC adapter from the outlet, and turn off the main unit.Remove all cables and devices from the main unit.Wait for the heat of your PS5 to cool.
2. Place a soft cloth on a flat surface and place the main body on top of it, then remove the base of the main body. Turn the main unit to make sure the PlayStation Family Mark is down and the power button is in advance.
3. With your right hand hold the bottom right edge of the cover and your left hand grasp the top left edge of the cover. Slowly lift cover up with your right hand. Hold the body with your left hand finger and slide the cover off with your left hand thumb.
4. When the cover is removed, the slots to attach the M.2 SSD inside the main unit.It has a long rectangular cover above the expansion slot and the top is secured with one screw.
Remove the screws on the expansion slot cover and remove the cover.
5.110 screws and spacers are attached so that they are detached.Install the spacer at the 80 position and insert the M.2 SSD storage drive until it clicks.Securely fastens with the screws you have removed the first time.Note: Please make sure to install the spacer in the correct position as this may cause breakage.
6. Install the cover, power cord, cable and base and turn on the power.When you start the PS5, the formatting screen will appear, please follow the instructions on the screen to format.
Note: For installation and initialization of the SSD, please refer to the Sony official website or PS5 user manual and operate it carefully.
