Date: Before March 1, 2026.
Evidence: There are a handful of things that Trump consistently goes back to when he needs a good distraction. This includes anything to do with Hillary Clinton or Hunter Biden, attacks on trans people, racial dog whistles, and goofy culture war stuff (e.g., "We can't say 'Merry Christmas' anymore"), and sad appeals to people working in the dying coal industry.
We recently saw the capture of someone connected to Benghazi. We are seeing legislation coming up against trans healthcare, we just saw Trump retweet a racist video of the Obamas and making as much hay as possible over long-resolved fraud issues with Somali immigrants.
As things heat up over the Epstein files and the administration members' enmeshment therein, MAGA is going to go back to the well again and again with these themes that don't help regular Americans but resonate with an extreme percentage of the MAGA base. We're likely to see more stuff about Bad Bunny, more attacks on immigrants, anti-"Communist" attacks on Cuba, and maybe a flexing of military muscles. Who knows, maybe Trump will trot out his complaints about toilet water limits? Anything to distract from Epstein.
