Peason is traced from a popular meme image of photographer Jeff Mermelstein with his face covered in peas similarly to the soyjak. The variant itself originates from a Say the line, Wojak meme showcasing the aftermath of a Gapejak being "peaed" upon by a pea swedejak. Due to the "say the line" format being controversial, Peason saw little success on the sharty but was popularized offsite like on xitter and Ifunny.[2][3]
