When the town was known for its mining businesses and lush lands, families settled and stayed. Many of the older, more established families populate Upper Lethe. Towards the far edges of Upper Lethe is where you’ll find Fableland Park. Over the span of the last two decades, much of the community has legislated for the closure of the theme park, but it’s too much of an attraction. Upper Lethe is also where many choose to enter into the forest preserve and campgrounds.

Sounds foreboding, doesn’t it? Lower Lethe. Contrary to what a person might assume, Lower Lethe gleams with hospitality during the day and glows with its hotels, bars, and businesses at night. The downtown that people hoped East Lethe would be is what Lower Lethe actually is. Many locals of the surrounding towns and cities enjoy the charming and idyllic sights Lethe has to offer, and at night the bars offer opportunity for community and engagement. Should you wish to have a night out on the town (with the guarantee of surviving the night), Lower Lethe is the place for you!

It was once the epicenter of commerce and community — when the mine was booming, many of the shops, restaurants, and businesses. East Lethe was well on its way to becoming the district that housed the downtown area, but as the mining business began to peter out, so too did its promise. Now East Lethe houses Old Town, which has made something of a come-back within the last decade. Now, it houses more mom-and-pop shops with the odd boutique here and there. Its upswing is owed to the community college and the newcomers that have settled into the town and made a place of their own. While some of the more affluent figures in the community turn their nose up at the residents of East Lethe, it takes pride in its working-class, close-knit community. Don’t mind the fact that many tend to disappear in this particular district.

It’s very easy to tell when you enter Lethe’s western district — the homes are sprawling, shining, and enviable. There are beautiful stables, lush estates, and the occasional smaller, more cottage-like houses to be found there as well. It’s the only part of Lethe that doesn’t budge up against the mountains — instead, it has a breathtaking view of the Smoky Mountains that many envy. The founding families of Lethe all have their homes in West Lethe and nothing is ever going to shake them from their roots. While they do have to deal with their neighbors, the Church of Wayward Saints, this particular district makes many covet what they don’t have.

Lethe is a vast town whose borders reach further than most people assume. There seems to be an odd thing that happens a couple of times a month — no matter the state of their car, whether it be new or old, people find their vehicles stalling soon after entering into the county lines. Due to this regular predicament, the city council saw fit to establish vital areas of business to curtail the issue. The success of this endeavor is arguable, but these businesses remain as bastions of safety and sanctuary (for the most part) when entering into the city limits. Remember to never stop for hitchhikers.
