Alas, for now the novels line for the Realms is "no more." On indefinite hiatus. The exceptions are the last few Drizzt novels, as an outside license, and the D&D movie novelizations. But whether Realms novel slots are open or not, your best road to prepare is write the best...

In my game world, magic opens a portal to the spell-relevant Plane. So a fireball opens a rift that lets a little fire out that the caster can shape. One odd feature is that for every kind of summoning spell, that item or creature was already existing somewhere else.
