It is finally here, the computer build you have (and possibly the whole world) been waiting for. The Linus Tech Tips and Linus Torvalds Collab PC build! Linus Torvalds talks through Linux development, parts selection, and even gives a glimpse into some cool projects he works on in his spare time. This project was made with a lot of hard work from our team and of course Linus Torvalds generous time.

It's amazing that your excitement is still so infectious.

I really like this sort of famous computer guy build format, maybe reach out to John Carmack, or maybe Jamie from JRE would be an interesting person.  Learn about all the cool ways people use their computers.

But anyone that you are excited to meet!

The moment Linus the younger said  "This is not a question of I have to reboot my system because my game crashed.  It is I am working on software that millions of people rely on...."  No it's so much bigger.  

BILLIONS.  Think about all of the servers, and devices, and embedded gadgets and gizmos that run some version of Linux now.  Things that are of life and death importance.  Looking at it that way it's crazy that this strange almost anarcho-Libertarian collectivized thing... is what so much of our world relies on. 

I wonder how much of avionics run on some variant of Linux.  Stuff like that https://www.linux.com/news/linux-in-aerospace-a-personal-journey/  Like your plane falls out of the sky if Linux is not just right.

I very much assume the screenshot won't be anything like the original file, even more so when you pay attention to the video and see that Linus (Torvalds) went through the "effort" of asking if there were any Android phones he could send it to such that it kept its original quality.

They put an explanation on the first comment, but I will add it here so you don't have to go look for it

"Talking about the ARC GPU Choice - It was never clarified in the video because both Linus/Linus ended up continuing their conversations after being side tracked and never circled back. In our original email communications it is because Linus T drives 2 x 6K displays and needed something more than integrated graphics without being an annoying loud or power hungry "gaming" class GPU. It was suppose to be a Intel Arc B50 but we could not get one in time of shooting. Linus T clarified he was still more than ok at the time of filming with this GPU being used. Sorry this wasn't in video form, but they just had so much fun talking we all forgot to circle back to this point. - Elijah
