Starting with the re-opening of Iwara.tv, we will begin applying changes we have been working on in regard to our needs for content separation. For now, only AI generated content will be affected.

AI Content Policy

Effective Immediately: AI Generated Content is no longer allowed to be uploaded to the primary Iwara.tv domain.

Iwara will soon launch a new domain that contains all AI Generated material. Content previously uploaded to the Iwara.tv domain will be automatically MOVED to the new domain. This affects all content tagged with “ai_generated” and “ai_art”.

This means that AI Generated Content is effectively SUSPENDED until further notice. We are doing this early in order to address issues with content flooding.

Please note that this change was already planned since mid 2025. This decision was not related to recent events but is instead because Iwara.tv was never intended to be an AI art platform. This kind of content needs its own home with a separated set of content rules.

Expected rules related to the AI Content domain

  • AI content is defined as content that has its visuals generated entirely with AI.
  • HMVs that have been made with entirely AI content are considered AI content.
  • All content must be easily recognized as fictional at a glance.
  • No impersonating real people in any form (both audio and video).
  • No fictional impressions of real people, including but not limited to: political figures and celebrities.
  • Content depicting extremes such as violence/murder, gore/guro, vore, excrement (feces), birthing, necrophilia, cannibalism, drugs and vomit are not allowed.
  • All other sensitive content types must be tagged properly or will be deleted when found.

More rules are in consideration.

We will continue to monitor and consider if any additional content types must be moved to separated domains.

Quick Progress Update

We are continuing to make progress on being able to restore the site to the public. We still have some issues that need to be ironed out.

The latest video uploads are currently functioning, and older video content is fully transferred to the Hime server, which is now able to forward all of it to the Mikoto server.

We have some critical software issues preventing a complete re-opening, but they are being resolved as fast as we can.

As a reminder when we finally do open it, some issues will still be likely to remain. For now, we are focused on functions that are critical for operation.

Okay, now for something fun.

We ran a quick check on how much video storage we’ve filled up over the years. The growth is awesome.

Here’s the yearly breakdown (in TB, roughly):

YearAdded (TB)Total (TB)
2015~0.30.3
2016~0.81.1
2017~1.62.7
2018~3.56.2
2019~5.511.8
2020~7.819.6
2021~8.528.1
2022~1038.1
2023~12.851.9
2024~1566.9
2025~17.284.1

That’s over 83 TB of content!

Huge thank you to every creator who’s kept uploading and building this community. You’re the reason it’s still growing.

Let’s keep the🔥coming in 2026!
