[–] I've seen some (late) sharty discussion on my NAS changes so I've decided to open up a q&a to explain the decision.
>Why add NASbooru at all?
It had been requested repeatedly by users on the booru and in the irc. As the booru upload numbers will show, there is clearly demand for NAS allowance.
>I don't want to filter out nas on my SOYbooru!
You don't have to, NAS is disabled by default. You will ONLY ever see NAS if you enable it on your account or specifically search for it.
>But why host it on the soybooru? Why not just make a gigabooru?
There are multiple issues with creating a gigabooru, a pepebooru, or even a wholesale NAS booru.
First, it would split the userbase. Why should you have to make an account on two (or more) different boorus? How active would any of these boorus be anyway?
Second, how do we determine what boorus to make? Just gigabooru? Is frogbooru worth it? What about 'zellig and miss circle and whatever other sharty memes are coming out of /qa/? Do they all get a booru or do they all go on a single NASbooru? How do we determine what's allowed on NASbooru? It's much easier to selectively allow NAS people actually want to see on soybooru. This doesn't even account for development, there have been a ton of fixes added to the booru ever since I took over, and maintaining two separate boorus with fixes and new features would be a pain for the developer.
I'm happy to answer any questions and take any suggestions you all have so please ask away. If you think your solution to NASbooru is genuinely better than mine then please share it, I want everyone to be happy.
I'll also take suggestions on what NAS to allow next

who are you o algo where did you come from
bro the 'ru has been filled with troonslop, reverse the change NOW
AYO CHILLLL WILL GROX BE ADDED TO THE NAS LIST THERES EVEN >>>/grox/

INSHALLAH SOYSNEED ALLOW SNEEDPOSTING
(According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway)
SUGGESTION
Add a tag blacklisting system as a compromise. It can be used for many purposes like blocking namefag 'jaks but also for those who dislike semi-IAS like soyjak assets, soytan or chud. This will work well for both soytan fans and haters as soytan fans can see 'tan without seing NAS like gigas and frogs like it always has been, and soytan haters can blacklist her tag. What do you think?
nigga just made the thread and left

SUGGESTION: Add awards or whatever they're called to the booru. Basically they would give extra recognition to OC creators and would also serve other purposes. They would be manually given if a user reaches certain criteria and showcased on their profile page. A few examples below.
DRAWFAG: User uploads drawfag OC often and is talented at drawing
FEATURED: User has gotten xer post featured at least once.
GEMSMITHER: User has gotten a variant of his above 100 booru posts.
OLDFAG: Granted to users with accounts over 1-2 years old (idk)
NEWFAG: Autogranted to new accounts until they have commented and interacted with the site a certain amount of times

>>10972275>What do (You) all think about making soytan NAS on the booru?it'd make oldtroons seethe, gemmy idea
>I've seen some (late) sharty discussion on my NAS changes so I've decided to open up a q&a to explain the decision.
>
>>10972275>What do (You) all think about making soytan NAS on the booru?do this…
>>10972275i think yes
also invite the booru users to ask stuff here
allow merchants for our frens at
>>>/pol/ or something
>>10972275Ban godson disrespect brimstones from niggerhell
It does have 1500 posts and is listed as a soyjak variant on the 'ki THOUGH
>allowing the soybooru to be raped with even more unfunny spic garbage
kill yourself nigger
>>allowing the soybooru to be raped with even more unfunny spic garbage
>kill yourself nigger
>>10972386Oh but most templates are locked geg i made a mistake still if it wasn't a variant then it wouldn't be on the wiki since the wiki reflects the general opinion
>nas:pepe
>look inside
>NAP (not a pepe) posts
Retarded dograisin update, booru is niggerhell anyway but the least you can do is have different tags for different frog variants like apu apustaja, groyper and whatnot or just tag them all as frog.
Replace classic mutt tags with nas: tags
Stop allowing stuff if it only has a small soyjak in the corner i've seen islamic propaganda that's fine because of a little cobson
Don’t change anything drastic
>>10972428The subnas tag is used for pepe variants such as apu
>>10972432This will probably happen
>>10972031Adding user themes would be a challenge but it's on the list
>>10972317Likely in round 2 of NAS
>>10972460This is generally being cracked down on along with tiktok coal that only has 2 frames of a 'jak
how did you become admin, did you buy the 'ru or did you suck froot off?
yet another subhuman newtranny kike looking to cull the booru
just blow your brains out nigger
Add the 5 tag and variant tag requirement directly to the upload screen so nusois dont forget
when will nas round 2 come
Yeah what happneed to doll
>>10972501I'm an experienced and active mod on both sites so I just got the promotion when Doll left as admin
>>10972528Good idea
>>10972542I'm unsure. I want to give people time to get used to the changes first. There are lots of people today who didn't know about the changes, I want to give them a chance to get used to the idea before I change the rules again and allow more stuff. Probably at least a week after the initial NAS update dropped
>>10972548TRVTHNVKE
>>10972552>>10972554I can't speak for Doll, sorry little buddies
I like the way you implemented it, good work blud
Add the soymojis from the sharty to the 'ru
send a screenshot of the post thing o algo
Make bans public like the sharty
if you ban someone in the 'arty add bantext isntead of deleting it
>>10972681post a screenshot i wanna see how jannies seethe arty
>>10972681Also i already posted this but you should lower the character limit to stop copypastas (also punish 'pasta spammers imo)
>>>10972590
>Take your meds
>>>10972597
>Good idea
>>>10972598
>Marge
>>>10972611
>I don't think this would be a good idea. Banned accounts already show up as such anyway
Replace the upvote and downvote button with coal and gem
allowing pepe and gigachad seems redundant when they could both have their own 'ru's or share one as to not contaminate the soy 'ru. This is a slippery slope and will lead to an onslaught of coal mark my words
Add an IRC link at the topbar that links to #booru on the irc
Will you allow gemmy old qa nas like sneed, baneposting, lee ?
What is your favourite variant
soysneed what is your favorite variant
>>10972697There is NOT a datamining button next to every post
You will NOT investigate
>>10972702Character limit reduction may be good. I'm not sold on banning spam and pastas outright
>>10972716Good idea
>>10972733Read my post, creating new boorus would be a ton of work for likely minimal gain
>>10972770Good idea
>>10972782Discord kitten applications are closed currently but may reopen this summer
>>10972787Most likely all in round 2
>>10972791I've always thought coinjak and tony soprano soyjak were underrated
Since there are a few big issues that I'm not decided on, I'll likely be opening polls on the booru to help determine things such as amerimutt and soytan being nas, banning copypastas, etc
>>10972846Rape it DESTROY IT
Also delete all tama for being shemmycuck brim
>>10971912 (OP)this means no more mexiaryans and meximutts, worst day ever, kys soysneed.
>>10972843You should open them on the sharty since it has a poll system built in
i love the 'ru with nas slop kys nigger revert it NOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW
downgrade sloptran to nas so i dont have to see it
upgrade gemtan to ias so i have to see it
>>10972846Ack'd
Not sure if all Tama will go but she's on shaky ground
>>10972867That's just a namefield
>>10972874I'll do this soon once I've written all the questions down, I want to cover everything
>>10972882If you're seeing NAS you turned it on
>>10972921add these options
merchant
tyrone
polack (as a tyrone subnas)
sneed

Should have allowed Numberjacks to be posted
is there a only: tag where it excludes all posts that have more than the searched tags
like only: troonjak, brown only gives posts with that only have brown and troonjak tags and nothing more
>>10972912is this soot in the room with us right now
>The body was too short or empty.
>>10972931All in strong consideration
>>10972952I don't think this option exists and I doubt it would be effective since there are so many tags, it would be difficult to find any posts that fit the criteria
>>10972967Not listening to this poll
>>10972976no it would be effective, imagine i want the default brown troonjak, i only have to type only:troonjak, brown and I get the default brown troonjak instead of searching all the variations of brown troonjaks.
Extremely rnca Wall of text inbound
I think we should keep soytan IAS she has multiple sharty banners, lots of OC and drawfag art, she just is very controversial and has outspoken critics opposed to her fans which usually just gather quietly on /soy/ in soytan threads and drawthreads. As was mentioned, note that most of the scores on soytan posts are close to 0 meaning that its very neutral averaged out. Personally i think it's way too neutral to make a poll on it or do anything drastic. She also has soy characteristics like a switch and is based on a bottle of soylent. Not only that but if assets used for 'jaks like Sproke and and the blanket thingy are allowed and called IAS, then i don't see why she shouldn't be allowed. All of her haters can just hide her posts anyways and even globally when the tag blacklist feature is released, but if you make her NAS then seeing taneralds would be much harder for her fans and it would force you to look at gigas pepes and a lot more which is pretty different from just seeing soyjaks and the occasional 'tan
>>10972986The default brown troonjak has more tags than just those two. Try using the template tag
>>10973013Right now we don't need any more approvers. Just make an account and stay active and don't be a fucking nigger faggot retard and you'll already be way ahead of the competition when approver applications reopen
I'm likely heading off soon so leave your last questions now. I'll be opening opinion polls on a few issues and adding a few of the suggestions from this thread soon so keep an eye out for all that

>First, it would split the userbase. Why should you have to make an account on two (or more) different boorus?
Nigger barely anyone likes NAS besides gigachads. It SHOULD split the userbase.
>how do we determine what boorus to make?
You said it yourself. Just make a whole NASbooru.
