/cuck/ - Cuck Hunt development thread

a custom crosshair would be nice (tiny one to not make the game that easy), to compensate, maybe hitboxes could be a bit smaller
we need:
  • Mostly empty boxes, just with the text that is never altered ("score", "hit", "r=","round", "fly away", "perfect")
  • Bullet and duck icon sprites (only 1 bullet sprite and 2 duck sprites, one white and the other red)
  • 1 sprite for the difficulty meter blue strips at the bottom, maximum of 40 difficulty bars
  • 2 sizes of boxes that aren't part of the HUD (one for "round", the other for "perfect")
  • 0-9 digits (in the atari font, green and white)
  • Sprites for those small score units that use a smaller font
  • "shot" text sprite, since the text flashes when out of bullets
  • A different palette for the skybox when you're either out of bullets or a duck flies away
  • A cursor for the main menu
  • In the original games, the ducks fly behind the tree and the big bush, so maybe put the sky box in a different layer
  • "shot" text sprite, since the text flashes when out of bullets
  • Janny sprites holding different combinations of cucks (either one or 2)
  • Maybe different fly away sprites
  • I dunno if some of the sound effects are missing, but if they are, add them
  • Make the first 9 rounds appear as 0x (x = number from 0-9), only make one slightly larger box for the rounds instead of 2 boxes like in the original (i think the video already had this) and cap the round number at 99
  • Make the screen resolution 1024x896px (8:7)
  • Make the characters move in 4px chunks (horizontally and vertically), so it's not as stiff as on the video

Is this a game about hunting cuckoo birds? If not— I don’t want it and it’s a bust.

Cuckoo birds make me cry, this one time I was at summer camp and I broke down in tears because a cuckoo bird was parasitizing a nest and somebody told me I couldn’t do anything about it and that it was just nature.
