Parents scream 'scumbag' as depraved paedophile convicted at court
Ross Jameson, 43, pretended to be a girl called Shannon as he promised his victims alcohol and nicotine products.
A depraved paedophile who preyed on children as young as seven-years-old online was branded "a scumbag" by disgusted parents at a court hearing today.
Ross Jameson pretended to be a girl called 'Shannon' when he targeted the young victims by asking them to record themselves carrying out horrific sexual acts and send him the footage.
Jameson, 43, encouraged some victims to masturbate and others to engage in sexual conduct with a dog and post the images to him while in contact with them over the internet.
The vile pervert asked some of the children to send him videos of them urinating in public places and offered to buy them alcohol and nicotine products in exchange for the recordings.
Jameson, from Newington, Edinburgh, also sent sickening pornographic material to some of the youngsters during the online contact.
The capital's sheriff court was told the eight children involved were aged between seven and 13-years-old and the offences all took place between March 15, 2023 and April 22, 2025.

Fiscal depute Eilidh Grant told the court prosecutors were currently preparing a written narration into the details of the offences which will be read out at the next hearing of the case.
Jameson appeared from custody where he pleaded guilty to eight charges on indictment of making sexual contact with children including asking them to send him videos of them engaging in depraved acts.
Parents and relatives of the victims were present in court on Tuesday, February 10 and shouted out as Jameson was being led back to the cells despite being given a warning about their behaviour prior to the case calling.
The horrified relatives labelled the offender as "scum" and "a scumbag" with some breaking down in tears as the charges were read out.
Sentence was deferred for the written narration, a criminal justice social work report and a risk assessment all to be prepared to next month.
Sheriff Matthew Jackson KC said: "You will be under no illusion that on that occasion you will receive a lengthy prison sentence, do you understand that?"
Jameson replied: "Yes."
Jameson, who is an IT consultant, was previously jailed when he also used a fake identity to lure young girls into explicit internet chats.
He told one 14-year-old girl he could make money by selling photos of her in her underwear and exchanged graphic sexual messages with other children.
Police were contacted after the sister of one of his victims became concerned about her "secretive behaviour" and checked her phone.
A raid on his home uncovered a collection of indecent images and videos of young girls - some featuring female toddlers being sexually abused while other images featured sexual activity involving animals.
Jameson was jailed for 18 months and placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years following a hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court in 2017.
