Nope. It’s just like the military. If they didn’t pay you, they’ll eventually get it fixed. If they overpayed you, same thing, but they’ll do it much faster.

If you don't have a savings, go get a back-up credit card. You'll get paid, including back pay, once Congress is done squabbling. When I worked federal LE, we were considered essential and had to keep working through the shut down. That said, HR and Mission Support specialists likely won't be considered essential and to those who have not started work, you may be delayed until after the shut down.
