Editing Application After TJO?
Hey everyone, I have received a TJO, submitted all required Onboarding documents, and filled out the survey I received last week. Still waiting on fingerprints/drug test and I’m a current fed - non law enforcement. I recently reviewed my application and noticed I accidentally answered a question wrong where it asks if you are a political appointee. Does editing my application harm me or is sending an email addressing the mistake sufficient? I’m so concerned because I don’t want be screened out for having put the wrong answer by mistake. I submitted my current SF50 with the application and included it again when uploading the DO booklet responses. Anyone have any advice or a POC for how to correctly proceed? Again, I am not a political appointee but I accidentally responded on my application saying that I am. My SF50 clearly reflects that I am not a PA, and that I do have the experience required for being selected for the job with required GS experience. Sorry for the essay, and thank you in advance for replies or suggestions.

Were you selected by an elected official such as the president or governor? If not then I don’t think you answered it wrong.

No, I’m just a normal federal employee and had accidentally selected “Yes” to being a political appointee on my application. I currently have a TJO and that’s why I’m not sure whether to just outright edit my application or email the clarification without editing. I don’t know how it might impact the process with being a candidate.

If you open your TJO email, there is a email address at the bottom of you can send a email to about it.

Hey guys, I’m in the hiring process for ICE ERO (DO GL-9) and already got my TJO for Miramar, FL. I realized I made a mistake on the application questionnaire — I accidentally selected the option saying I had a Master’s degree instead of the one for specialized experience (which is what actually qualifies me). It was just a click mistake. As soon as I noticed, I emailed the ICE hiring inbox explaining it and correcting it. Has anyone here made a similar mistake on USAJOBS/USA Staffing? Did HR fix it on their end? Did it affect your BI or EOD? Any experiences or advice would help. Thanks.
