Yes - your gear is issued. If you want to carry a personally owned handgun, there’s an approved list and process to get your weapon approved for duty use.

Anyone have the list? (Sigs and Glocks, I’m assuming). No hammers, no external safety I would assume as well.

Feel free to ignore. Do we have to qualify on our off duty gun like most local agencies do? We are carrying as LE correct and not civilians? I have a hard time understanding this world of federal LE not having 24/7 arrest authority.

Breaking this down 1 - yes, qualify to the same standard/same course of fire as a service issued weapon. 2 - yes, if “in service” the weapon can be carried under LE credentials 3 - ICE has 24/7 arrest authority. 19USC1589a and 8USC1357

Perfect, I’m a 0083 coming from local and am still confused how I can’t qualify with my off duty carry. I use it the court will only care I’m law enforcement without a qualifying on my off duty carry.

You should be covered under LEOSA which allows you to carry any of the same type of weapon your duty weapon is.
