Vision Color Test
Just did the medical test which is the last thing I needed to complete before my EOD date. I passed everything, but I struggled with a couple pages on the Ishihara color vision book test. I think I might be slightly deficient in one eye, but it's never hampered me from working for multiple law enforcement agencies in the past.
Doctor could not do the peripheral vision test, so he scheduled me for a specialist to perform that specific test, but otherwise I was good.
Was interested to learn if anyone else had any issues with this test before and what the results were or worst case scenario, possible waiver. I can certainly see and discern colors without issue.
I have my EOD on 10/19, but I naturally would not want to leave my stable federal job if the answer is flat out "no" over a color vision plate test well after my EOD date (worst case scenario).
At the very least, would I remain on duty after my EOD until I have a chance to retake with something like the Farnsworth Color Vision or obtain a waiver for my current test results? I understand they are pushing people out to FLETC in about a week after arriving? Would I just sit around until that portion is concluded or contend with that when I get back?
Thank you for the insight.
