Vision Color Test
Just did the medical test which is the last thing I needed to complete before my EOD date. I passed everything, but I struggled with a couple pages on the Ishihara color vision book test. I think I might be slightly deficient in one eye, but it's never hampered me from working for multiple law enforcement agencies in the past. Doctor could not do the peripheral vision test, so he scheduled me for a specialist to perform that specific test, but otherwise I was good. Was interested to learn if anyone else had any issues with this test before and what the results were or worst case scenario, possible waiver. I can certainly see and discern colors without issue. I have my EOD on 10/19, but I naturally would not want to leave my stable federal job if the answer is flat out "no" over a color vision plate test well after my EOD date (worst case scenario). At the very least, would I remain on duty after my EOD until I have a chance to retake with something like the Farnsworth Color Vision or obtain a waiver for my current test results? I understand they are pushing people out to FLETC in about a week after arriving? Would I just sit around until that portion is concluded or contend with that when I get back? Thank you for the insight.

Bro I feel you my doctors didn't clear me for my right being 20/70. I hope a medical waiver can help, it's a bummer.

That's corrected though, right? Couldn't you update your prescription or go get glasses? I'm looking at the medical form now, I don't see anything as far as an uncorrected vision requirement (like CBP has). When I did my vision test with my contacts today, which is an outdated prescription, my vision was 20/25. When I put my regular glasses on, 20/20.

Couldn't you just go to the optometrist and get a quick updated prescription for glasses? I think a lot of places can make you glasses same day now. Or you could rush ship a cheap pair of glasses that you can later keep to just wear around the house when watching TV.

I have keratoconus glasses do fine but I need RGP lenses. My best corrected vision is left eye 20/20 and right eye is 20/70.
