Ilhan Omar to hold town hall in Minneapolis

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is set to hold a town hall Tuesday in Minneapolis days after the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti triggered unrest across the city.

Omar, who has been an outspoken critic of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announced she will be meeting with her constituents in person to answer questions and discuss services her office can provide. 

“As Minnesotans, we look out for each other,” Omar wrote on X Monday. “Here’s some helpful resources if you need immediate support finding food, shelter, or healthcare.”

President Donald Trump announced Monday that he is sending border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota after Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, was shot and killed during an altercation with Border Patrol in Minnesota after intervening with immigration operations.

“Another murder by immigration enforcement in my district,” Omar wrote on X after the death of Pretti. “I am absolutely horrified that federal agents are targeting and executing our residents instead of protecting them.
