Transparency Mass Ban - 2026-02-04

Hello all,

This is not a post I've wanted to make at all. I have made this thread to discuss the recent exodus and malicious behaviour of several (now ex) staff.
My patience has finally run out. I have tried to just let this run its course, and let things handle themselves but my hand has been forced
The events of the past 6 months along with myself being made homeless for several months has pushed me to my breaking point.

For context: 8 years ago, Jon (aka Serafeline, Screwdriver, Frosty Scales, Tailbait, koopa516 etc) drove me and a friend called Pansy apart. He dared me to message her while drunk for his amusement last April. She had been gone from my life for years. This event put us back in contact with one another and she has been supporting me throughout.

The goings-on about Pansy controlling me is, for lack of a better term, complete and utter horseshit. If anything, I've been the one controlling her. She gave me the confidence to stand up for myself and say the magic word: no. I've had to stop her from posting edgy jokes and snippy comments before. She has a rough sense of humour (that also applies to herself) but she does care about people. This person dropped everything and helped me get back on my feet at the lowest point in my life so far, and I'm made out to be mentally ill and told to "seek help"? Go fuck yourself. I owe her my life, because if she hadn't I'd be dead from hypothermia from sleeping on the streets.

Anyone attempting to stir shit in relation to this will be banned without mercy, because I am done with your shit. I want to sit down for at least a day and not have to worry about people stirring yet more bullshit, causing yet more ill health I could go without, because frankly I would rather be feeding ducks at the pond with my friend and watching House. Instead I've had to constantly react and defend myself against a serial control freak, narcissist and liar who's been wreaking havoc on what little social groups I've had until recently for about a decade.

Red Sun has skeletons in the closet. Jon is the skeleton in the closet. He has been attached to every single major drama this community has had in its nearly 11 years, from its inception in 2015. I wanted him gone and this is the thanks I get. Life's great, eh?

Onto the next part now, the major offenders.

Jon/Screwdriver will stay banned. I do not want him back in my life, at all. The amount of pain and suffering I've been through because of his actions is incalculable. Jon, why the fuck do you think I want you to talk to me? After what you've done, stay out of my life. I wouldn't even piss on you if you were on fire.

Suisolder has been removed from his role. I have received word that he is intentionally staying on instruction of one of Jon's goons. Just go, stop having someone behave like a minder because you all behave like jealous exes, voraciously checking over every letter I type as well as constantly F5ing the homepage to check if you've finally been hit with a ban. Don't bother checking anymore, you're all banned.

Literail will not be allowed back without good reason for repeated concern trolling of applicants/staff. I see this as a bad faith attempt to dissuade people from volunteering to keep things under control. I have been sent evidence of this and frankly I am not happy. You have not been banned for "talking about the staff exodus", you have been banned for repeated malicious behaviour.

42 will not be allowed back without good reason for repeated smearing of myself and Mikusch, and for promoting what I can only call "we'll make our own redsun with blackjack and hookers". His hyper-tribalism and no desire to listen to any other side of the story, has earned him a place on this wall of shame.

For the record, there are a fair few more users here who have not been named. They have also been banned, and can reach out should they have any questions.

In addition, I have deputized known responsible and experienced users and accepted some permanent moderators back onto the team. They will be cleaning up and handling the goons who attempt to cause harm to others, this community, or my own health and wellbeing. They have been instructed to crack down hard on certain topics and to keep the peace. In short, just go about your day. Tell anyone who brings up drama to fuck off. Talk about baking or ducks or some shit.

Attempting to turn this place into an alt-right haven, progressive "woke" utopia or any other sort of political base will get you and anyone associated with you removed. This is a community for a game. That's all it is.

If you don't like how he's managing the server or whatever it is you guys bring up next, then that's fine too. Because you don't need to be here. Nobody does. But we want to because we find this place FUN. What's happening is ruining the FUN.

One day this server isn't going to exist anymore and honestly at this rate that might be sooner than we fucking think. We could all wake up one morning and it's all gone. Nobody wants that. I'm not saying we should just ignore this shit, something has clearly gone horribly wrong and it's effecting the community inside and out.

Please. If there is anything that I can say that you'll listen to and respect, then please just let it simmer down. We don't need a civil war. We don't need THIS. So why don't we all just take a step back, let things calm down, and once everyone is in the right frame of mind, we can discuss this properly without trying to slice each others throats out. Hell, everyone who is apparently involved in this doesn't even need to bring it here. It can be discussed in private. Torhu only made this post from what I can assume is peer pressure and panic.

Constantly going "Please stop fighting guys " isn't going to help anyone considering most of the staff has already left and this situation has already blown up far beyond what it realistically should've. It is far too late for people to simply "calm down." If you don't have any actual input to give, then don't bother typing at all.

When I met you at PAX, I genuinely believed you were working to improve yourself. I wasn't just there to talk to you from afar at PAX. I was there with you in the same room after what happened. I stayed there that night after everyone else had left, because I saw you were clearly suffering a mental breakdown. While I didn't fully understand what exactly happened and I got some of the details wrong when I heard them, I could tell that you were thoroughly broken by it. I lent you the Ralsei plushie I bought that day just to give you some sort of comfort, because I knew I didn't have the words to do so myself. I could physically feel your pain that night, and though I could truly understand only a piece of it, I wanted to empathize and try to make things easier for you, even with my very limited capability to do so.

I felt guilty leaving the hotel early next day, knowing that they had kicked you out of the hotel entirely. While I was at least able to convince someone else to listen to you in my stead, I still felt horrible over not being there for you myself, since I couldn't exactly go back; the whole ordeal made me so uncomfortable that I had already scheduled an early flight out of there. By the time I had heard from you, I was already at the airport.

I was willing to defend you in court should the need be, based on what you told me. I've barely even known you for like half a year by this point, and I was still willing to do so because I felt your pain in the moment. And I do to this day still believe your testimony about your parents, your recent loss, and I was willing to believe your testimony on this for a bit as I myself didn't fully trust Screwdriver either. Regardless, I put my faith in you, and my empathy for you caused me to go into a nearly two-day autistic shutdown during the mass staff exodus, in part because I was worried about your own well-being. That was also my third autistic shutdown in the span of barely two months, and I remember that day that you reached out and tried to connect to me over your own. Just before you lied about the situation as seen above. I was even briefly considering applying to become a moderator here after that, to potentially ease the burden on you.

And when the first party in question gave their side of the story and explained that no, they weren't being abused and were fully consenting, you conveniently ignored it and continued to let some random conspiracy theorist peddle sweet nothings into your ear.




That does not make it better.
YOU ARE THE HEAD ADMIN OF THE COMMUNITY.
You could have easily just direct messaged the users in question about what they apparently did wrong, warn them about it, and then if they did it again, just mute/ban them. That was all entirely within your authority and power, and would've have been vastly more professional and understandable than what you actually did.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but just know that whenever I personally try to write a forum post or something serious, I agonize over basically every word to ensure that my exact feelings and understanding comes through, so no misunderstanding can come from it. I also, however, understand that communication is a two-way street. As such, I have a single request:

FUCKING. READ.

You allowed a rot to fester in this community that resulted in basically all of my best friends leaving this place. Several of whom are responsible for me realizing I could feel more than just "ok" about myself; that I could find something about myself to be truly happy and proud about.

These servers were a place for me, and I'm sure many others, to forget about how awful the world around us is getting. To get away from the encroaching shittiness, transphobia, racism, and the like, and just enjoy ourselves playing some goofy gamemodes and sentence-mixing silly voice commands to make the mercs say funny, stupid things. All that work from the developers and moderators. All the attempts at self-improvement on your end. All that patience, and for what? For you to regress to your former petty, bigot self. All while trying to deflect the blame from yourself and refusing to look inwards.

This is what we get for our efforts? For the empathy others and I have tried to share with you? A sledgehammer to what was once my and many others' favourite community?
This is how you repay me? How you repay all of us?

When it comes to people debating my right to exist I think I'll chastise anyone who says I shouldn't have that. I exist. I'm not a debating point. I'm sorry that hurts but you know what hurts more? Knowing that by the time I'm 40 I or someone I hold closely and dearly is likely to be dead. Having to fight tooth and nail to get anyone in public or private healthcare to listen to me. Having to live in a world which is becoming increasingly hostile to me and people like me, telling us we can't use any bathrooms in public spaces or making us the scapegoat for all the world's problems. And that's to say nothing of all the countries where it's already illegal to be trans.

It's nice to have an escape from all of that and to just exist as a queer person in a space where nobody's gonna give you shit for existing. Despite its rocky past and some loud individuals, redsun managed to become that. At least for a time. Then the instant you take back full reins you immediately demonstrate that's no longer going to be the case. I don't think it's enough to just apologize and "take the fall" for someone's shortcomings when the actions that transpired were so, and I apologize for the harsh words, childish and ill-spirited.

Taking into account the fact that you were the one who told Quags it's okay to be a dick in an attempt to weed out people you yourself did not like, it's not enough to justify absolutely zero consequences besides an apology (as far as I can see, at least). Even if they were told it's alright and to be encouraged to do it, that doesn't mean they should go through on it. In an ideal scenario they should have told you it was a bad idea or just shouldn't have done it, especially because they were already made a moderator.

This just further encourages toxicity towards people you or anyone else doesn't like and is bound to create a worse, unhealthier environment for the community. In my opinion it's not enough to be a bannable-enough offense considering Quags was told it's "okay" and the fact that, as I see it, redsun isn't exactly a space that outright bans people who are being over-the-top, but letting them keep their place as a moderator is terribly problematic. As such I am asking them to be stripped of their privileges and permissions and be demoted to a regular member. Another thing is that, in announcements (see image), we were told he would "toe the line you tell him once he's abroad". If this is "toeing the line", then I believe he wasted his chance. Maybe he could be given another in a year or two once we see considerable improvements where he doesn't (as you put it) "stir up shit" anymore, in time where it no longer is controversial enough to warrant a separate announcement just for him.



I have nothing major against the guy, but this kind of behaviour shouldn't have been or be accepted amongst your staff. That is all.
tl;dr: I believe Quagsire should be demoted because an apology isn't enough.

I didn't initially address the pax incident because I believed it was a personal matter and didn't want to drag it into the community and potentially cause a fuss like this one. That's it. That's the entire reason. I regret not addressing it publicly because it allowed this to happen.
I do not often talk with others about my own problems, hence why others' narratives often come out on top. I can be too prideful to talk, if that's the best way to put it.

There's a difference between being docile and doing unforced errors that cause rifts to constantly grow between you and your own community. It is your community but your actions do absolutely dictate how your player-base sees you.

Way to twist words. Users have the ability to ignore decals now via the /ignore tool. If they don't like something, they can... use the block tool we gave them. Once the shit regarding the spray rule had calmed down I was wanting to relax it again after a while once the line-pushing bad faith users had been put in their place, because the volunteer moderators don't need this shit to deal with as well.

Still doesn't explain why you decided to silently remove the ban without talking to any of your staff about it when decals containing hate-speech and things equivalent to it have been targeted prior (also still wanna point out that one of the things Mikusch was venting about that you showed before was you also revoking a permanent ban, again without any consultation or formal appeal process)

I've dealt with similar situations before where an allegation turned out to be either overexaggerated, misrepresented or outright false. This was no different as Jon did not provide the proof of this to me, nor did he think it appropriate to remove the accused person from the team (or suggest so). I would love to provide you with the screencaps of this, but that is unfortunately on my deleted account.

First image shows context as to why Screwdriver is the one talking to you and can be verified, along with linking the Deleted user to your old account if necessary. It's one thing to choose to not act on something if you feel the evidence you'd have isn't enough and that'd be understandable since that is a serious allegation. It's another to choose to be willfully ignorant because you perceive that it has nothing to do with you.

I can see where you're coming from on this one and it's... offputting but explainable. Doesn't mean you'll like it though.
The simplest explanation is often the truth, because it is. I wanted more information. That's it.
As for why, though, I will keep that to myself out of not wanting to cause further issues, because revealing that would cause yet another shitstorm I do not have the time, energy or emotional investment for. Enough shitslinging is going on, I don't want to add any more than I'm forced to.

Chat logs with Xamad show that even after having a image of logs showing that Swing stated everything was fully consensual, you were still choosing to act as if it wasn't and stating it as if it was a fact. It was already glaringly suspicious that you chose to derail the incident stated in the beginning of the mod logs to start talks about serious allegations against Jonathan, but seeing you continue that after...

And yes, I am taking responsibility for this, and accountability too. Again, I did not tell him explicitly to post this or anything else. I did chastise him for this in private.
And I can actually vouch for him, because he's one of the people who has been keeping me correct on pronouns with a lot of people. I forget a lot of the time because I don't think, out of absentmindedness. He is handling most of the day to day cleaning in my absence while I handle doctor's appointments and referrals.
I disagree with you there, partially. Maybe I don't because I just have higher tolerance to certain things. Offense is taken and it's subjective, ultimately I stand in line with my values of not taking down something, and again, I'll take what comes my way, good or bad.

You can also say you vouch for your mod, but people themselves can judge by the things they publicly see and when they see them reply "lies" to a statement that trans women are women and associating bridges towards various trans-people, you can't be surprised when people think in contrast to whatever you vouch. It should also be very obvious that telling a moderator to drive away people you don't like isn't a good look at all, especially when they act transphobic to do so. I'm tired of all of this. The recent changes I've made have involved stricter controls on controversial content and what I guess you'd call hate speech, with plans to introduce something akin to the Gentleman's Ticket onto the servers themselves along with a few changes that are still in discussion.

While you were nazi-like with threats of deleting the whole Redsun discord, petty stuff like trying to disable wordle there, and banning any adjacent people from other incidents such as from when you got removed from creators I wouldn't have stated so. I've always thought you were more of a loose cannon, someone easily capable of being selfless but also prone to blowing up especially at the worse possible moments. Now with even more information coming out, I genuinely don't know what to think...

But the TL;DR is that I am taking accountability. I can admit when I'm wrong, and I was wrong to clam up and not tell my side of things. I did it to try and avoid this, because I didn't want it to be a big issue.
But now it is. And I reap what I sow.

Again, with what the logs shown by Xamad that you were still spreading serious allegations despite testimony stating otherwise and some of your other statements since, at this point words aren't enough to prove you would be able to show yourself taking accountability.

And also people in staff didn't like the idea of a Gentlemann's Ticket because the idea of buying a N-word pass is scuffed to shit and many preferred those words to be filtered out entirely.
