There is no way you can change the language of the app. Language preference is a very basic feature which almost all apps should have which is missing in this app. Very frustrating indeed!

The app does not allow me to select the language of using it... it is very inconvenient for me as an eastern Asian user. It should allow the user to set preference.

This app seems like a custom web browser to display Toyoko Inn web app, so the content becomes unavailable as soon as the internet connection is lost. For that reason, progress cannot be continued when the connection is restored. Also, default connection for the website is to the Japan server and reservations for foreign locations do not appear on My Reservation page because reservations made via foreign servers don't seem to be synchronized to the database on the main server in Japan.
