Significant Progress Breakthrough

We’re excited to share significant progress in our recovery efforts!

Current Status

All custom-ordered servers have arrived and are now operational. While one server encountered complications during initial provisioning, we worked with our hosting provider to resolve these issues. Our infrastructure is now in a usable (but not perfect or optimal) state as of today, allowing us to begin configuring the database and web servers.

Timeline

Setup is currently underway, but we cannot provide a specific ETA at this time. Please understand that the site will not be returning within the next few days. Additional complications may arise during deployment, which could extend our timeline further.

Steps towards completion:

  • Configure the remaining servers
  • Deploy the website environment
  • Import the recovered database files
  • Test browsing through existing content
  • Test uploading new content

The website will not be brought back online to the public until basic and important functions are verified as working.

What to Expect

When Iwara does return, we expect users to experience:

  • Large amounts of broken thumbnails (Fixable – will take time and is a focus for later)
  • large amounts of broken image posts (Some but not all will be fixable)
  • Upload delays due to high volumes of incoming content
  • Performance issues as we optimize server configurations
  • Intermittent downtime while we fine-tune the infrastructure
  • Ongoing server adjustments, particularly under heavy traffic loads
  • Additional outages due to unforeseen circumstances

We’ll continue working with our hosting services to address any hardware issues that emerge once the site is live and under significant stress.

This is a tough moment, but we’ve overcome many challenges before, and we’re not going to give up easily. More updates will come as soon as there is progress. We don’t expect to be able to bring the website back within the next few weeks, but it isn’t impossible.

In the meantime, feel free to check out our ongoing broadcast posts as a bit of entertainment while we continue doing things in the background. Thankfully we just recently had a writer join our team as a volunteer which is why this is possible now. We wanted to wait another few months before introducing the twins, but here we are.
