ARPA-H, the “moonshot” biomedical agency established under the Biden administration, laid off staff last week, according to two people familiar with the matter.  

The cuts largely hit staff responsible for operations and for commercializing the technologies the agency supports, the people said, leaving scientific staff and programs intact. The people said they believed 20 individuals were let go between employees and contractors.

Health and Humans Services spokesperson Andrew Nixon confirmed that there were layoffs but did not provide details.
