/Int/ surpassing /qa/. This photo was taken during /int/'s more DNB hours.
One of the rare, gemmy hours where /int/ surpassed /soy/
Just like the SoyBooru Crisis, this event was precipitated by Vlodson (even though the Vlodson poster is also black[1])

The Brownocaust is an ongoing series of rangebans targeting certain third-world and second-world countries, with the aim of getting brown people off of the website. Currently, the rangeban is active on the Sharty and Soybooru, though on the former it only applies to certain boards (/soy/ and /qa/) while on the latter the IP ranges are completely blocked on the Cloudflare level. Due to this, most of the banned countries have moved to /int/ or /pol/, causing the PPH of said boards to increase drastically, usually surpassing /qa/ and sometimes even /soy/.

History[edit | edit source]

Pre-Crisis[edit | edit source]

For a long time, there have been calls to rangeban certain countries in the 'ru, though these were often humorous in nature and not really serious requests. There were claims of these third-world nations specifically being associated with faggotry and coal, but it was not known for certain whether it was true or not back then.

Vlodson Crisis[edit | edit source]

Main article: Vlodson Crisis

On January 11, 2026, some 'teen on /soy/ began rallying people to vandalize all variant:vlodson 'ru tags to nas:vlodson[a]. When jannies found out, all of the vandalism was reverted, the vandals were banned, and a Vlodson nameroll was added.[2] The OP of the subsequent thread exposed himself as an Azerbaijani 'cord user with an Android tablet.[3]

January 12[edit | edit source]

Brazil, Turkey, Mexico, Chile and Azerbaijan were rangebanned from /soy/ and /qa/ (some weren't banned from /qa/ though)[4], with Brazil also being rangebanned from SoyBooru, and RTL polls finally passed 5 for the first time. Quote later stated that he did this because he was "racist and sick of brown people. Sick of brown people shitting up his country and sick of brown people coaling up his website" with a zellig toss embedded in the post (still getting replaced, larper 💀💀💀).[5] In the same thread, some Chilean 'teen hypothesized "that the rangeban is only cause more problems" because it would lead to increased VPN usage on the sharty.

January 13[edit | edit source]

Quote expanded the scope of the rangebanned to include most of Latin America and parts of East Asia.[6]

January 14[edit | edit source]

The rest of Latin American countries that didn't get rangebanned on January 13 join the list, this including Venezuela and Argentina (not Puerto Rico and Uruguay thoughever). /int/ starts seeing an uprise in PPH, reaching up to 67 posts per hour(even doe it reached like 200)[7]. A chilean 'teen threatens to have Quote assassinated.[8] Despite the bans being done to preserve the quality of /soy/, faggotry on /soy/, unsurprisingly, continues.[9]

January 17[edit | edit source]

Gempass users from /qa/ spam tranime on the /int/ board in an attempt to wipe the catalog.[10], thoughever they fail to do so. A constitution begins to be written for /int/ to help define what is gem and what is coal.

January 18[edit | edit source]

The /int/ constitution is completed and a /int/ flag is made meanwhile IRC spam FPE and MLP bait in an attempt to counter the 'jaks and gigas. (kind of a self own for quote isnt it.. GEEEEEEEEEEEG)

Notes

  1. Changing vlodson posts to nas:vlodson implies that it is allowed NAS rather than a dusty nuvariant so the vandals were not only shitting up the 'ru but also unintentionally claiming the variant that they oh-so-much hated had a special status.
