While the majority outlook on the cacacaust was negative, this topic still remains highly controversial and is prone to change.

1/28, globally known as the Cacacaust, were a set of events that happened on January 28th 2026, which included banning of all under-18 users, sitewide gore ban and Quote announcing when the site will shut down.
Quote would later announce that when he gets bored of the sharty, he'll just shut it down instead of selling it to somebody else. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?[1]
Reason behind the cacacaust[edit | edit source]
The main reason behind the Cacacaust was actually part of a larger plan to "Make the HTSM's go extinct", it had been planned by Limeade months prior.[it just is, ok?] The catalyst of this event was during the colorgem IRC spamming. 'teens prior to 1/28 had claimed that there was too much EPI on the log.[it just is, ok?] And instead of just banning the spammers shitting up his website, quote decided to make an unnecessary change that did more damage than good (see section below.)
Quote has stated that he does not care for the PPH loss the site took.

Rule changes[edit | edit source]
The most notable rule changes included the under-18 ban and the gore ban. The gore ban only affected /pol/ because that's the only place it was previously allowed on.
Mass ban wave[edit | edit source]
Throughout the day, Quote and the rest of the Jannies would ban everybody who had admitted to being under 18 previously, Two of the most notable people banned were trevor, who had to show a censored image of one of his IDs, with antiswarthy having admitted to being underage. Two other prominent namefags, korg and colorlesspy, were also banned.
Cacas got banned in droves. The ban list quickly was covered in rule 13 violations shortly after the rule was announced.[2]
Some immigrated to the shroom, where they would publically express feelings of betrayal.
Bans on der 'ki[edit | edit source]
The ban wave started to take effect on this very wiki shortly afterwards, with several active nu-editors getting 'nished, including one mediator Goopz.[3]
During this it was also discovered that Chud’ait had been continuing to edit on a sockpuppet account called Antimatter, a notable 13-year-old snitchnigger and gegbull who spread the target list for Operation No Nut November on reddit. His 'sock was initially 'nished for vandalizing 'ki pages with two other active editors,[and organizing it on a jewgle doc geg] due to their immense clitty leakage about the Gradingcaust.
The original creator of this article got banned shortly after publishing it and outing ximself as a caca GEEG
Splinters using the cacacaust to their advantage[edit | edit source]
It has been theorized by many that splintercucks will use the cacacaust as a way to grow their shitty DNB sites. With no home for the cacas to go to, they will either immigrate to the shroom or splinters. People have speculated that this will cause a chain effect of rebellion on certain splinters where anti-sharty rhetoric and the hatred for the site the cacas have will combine & form a purity spiral that eventually devolves into xittertranny levels of obsession. This can somehow get even worse if bad actors use this to groom & extort the minors into sadist groups & cults, especially considering how rampant pedos can be on splinters.
