I'd say over the last 1-2 years the issue of the purity spiral has been getting more and more obvious. People keep leaking and falling for the most OBVIOUS bait. Due to 'teens consistently interacting and leaking over this bait, it just causes even more bait to be posted because the posters keep getting reppeys from it.

I guarantee you 90-95% of the bannable threads that pop up are bait. I've never seen people take blatant bait so seriously. Of course with the more bait the more complaints are had, the more calls for rulecucking, the more dismissal of any potentially gemmy nu 'jaks outing them as forced coal or cordslop in order to protect from the quality of the 'log from dropping. This is happening in a similar way to the 'cuck in that the hostility for nu users (and yes some nusois are definitely brimstone) becomes so all encompassing that it just becomes a slowly decaying circlejerk of furiously gatekeeping oldfags.

Gatekeeping obviously needs to be done to a degree, but in excess it just leads to 4cuck. Old mechanisms which acted as newfag repellant (such as 'cado in some cases) have been banned due to the pearl clutching by the userbase. That it's "EPI" and such. But a couple years ago nobody thought that. Almost nobody unironically goons to 'cado. The self sanitizing of the site defeats the whole purpose of it. The whole point was to post gemmy 'jaks, make raids, OCs, etc. But now, the more and more the rules are cracked down upon the less point there is to even be here.

There will always be bad actors in a site like this. It's literally inevitable and unavoidable. The best course of action is to swiftly deal with these people but also not automatically assume someone is one of them. Yes, there are a few pedos, yes they should be publically tortured and executed, yes it is a real problem. But it still is overblown in my mind by the common 'teen. Groupthink has been reigning supreme as of late. I'd say there is possibly many 'teens who have opinions about the site or its policies that would get them metaphorically beheaded, but they will never say so because going against the common opinion is a huge no-no.
