My Yin and My Yang
A drawing for the time I had with two very special dogs. This was a daily scene in my life. They were always there, keeping me balanced in ways only dogs can do.
Although life has moved on and I embrace every change, there will always be an irreplaceable spot in my heart for those two!

A longer explanation…
I started drawing this over a year ago, while grieving a very bad loss. It was meant to express the physical pain I felt in my chest and throat—intense, tight, hard to breathe. I stepped away from it for a long time. Eventually, it came to represent the beautiful things that grew from that same experience—freedom through perspective, clarity, drive, and optimism.
Bad things that happen do not own you. I know it’s easy to feel stained, and some bad things will never make sense. But I try to view pain as a sort of checkpoint, to propel me forward, and also to remember how far I’ve come.
And I’ve come very far. I continue to align with my best self. Importantly, I maintain my sense of humor…laughter is great relief for the chest 😉
I hope this, although deeply personal, somehow resonates.
