It's really fucked, because if I was on the Internet slightly younger than I was, I can see myself becoming enamored with this community. I can understand why they do it. Cutting to expose the fat really disturbs me though; you definitely need stitches for that kind of wound right? These poor kids... I have cousins this age... maybe I should talk to them more.
Honestly probably also how it starts for some, I remember a lot of guys burning their arm hair as a... challenge? Trend? Whatever you want to call it. I recall that salt + ice trend too, been kind of a lot of challenged that are borderline gateways into self harm actually.
The way shtwt romanticises it is so fucked, I remember seeing an alleged 12 year old posting about hard drugs and self harm and them having a shit ton of followers. That was one of the most depressing things. Other than that a lot of kids throwing "Cutspo! So pretty uwu" at each other and discussing tools you can cut yourself with. I know it leaks into the reviews on amazon and aliexpress for said tools too. Honestly just don't let your kids go on twitter, there's nothing there for them anyway.
Kids aside though I have encountered some mildly cow-like behaviour here and there but not really anything more amusing than it was depressing.
Technically yes, medical professionals suggest gaping wounds (regardless of depth) and anything deeper than the dermis to be closed. Realistically though? Bodies are incredible at healing. Even wounds reaching the muscle (or bone) can be healed at home with basic medical supplies, reasonably frequent wound care, and a shitton of luck.
Other than infections, the main issues with not getting medical attention are inconsistent scarring looking ugly (usually not a concern for cutters) and scar shrinkage that can inhibit full range of movement. Most cutters aren't aiming for joints though, so even that isn't a big concern to a lot of people.

I believe she already posted something about being taken into care or needing medical treatment not too long ago. Now she needed another ambulance ride and kept posting to her self harm community from the hospital, discussing her medical report, vaping and outfit, among other things. Hospital staff writes that she is talking in strange accents and intonations that might have come from the media, another sign this girl is probably highly susceptible to outside influences (see also: pronouns, ED info and DID system). For now, it ends with her being disappointed as the doctor tells her the cuts are not deep.

A YouTuber named "vplasma" made a video a few days ago about SHTWT, the people actually watching it seem to be primarily members of SHTWT themselves, if the comments are to be believed.
For clarification, I haven't watched the video yet but I did attempt to join his Discord server. He seems to have made a channel for new members to chat in before getting access to the rest of the server after making the video, but you need to have a phone number linked to your Discord account and considering the fact that I do not have impossibly large amounts of semen pouring out of my mouth, I am unfortunately unable to chat and access the rest of the server. It also seems he has some sort of script active that kicks you after a certain period of time has passed without you chatting.

Well, it didn't take long but I've come across a "radqueer" on SHTWT. For the uninitiated, radqueer is short for radical queer, essentially they push zoophilia, pedophilia, and necrophilia under the guise of fag rights. Predictably, these people are either mentally ill or incredibly depraved as evidenced by our own thread here on the Farms, and while they do congregate mainly on Mastodon instances, it was rather surprising to see one out in the wild on Xitter. This person is clearly very mentally ill, as they identify as being "transage 20", which is essentially ageplay. The only time you see 18+ paraphiles identify as "transage" it's when they went to ageplay as toddlers or children, but since this person is identifying as 20 it's likely they are a minor. Additionally, they state they're into "ABDL", "TBDL" and are a babyfur, which stand for adult/teen baby diaper lover and being attracted to furry "cubs" in diapers respectively. I don't know what "poly Iesboy" means however.
