IONNA Turns Two!

Step 1: The Spark

In 2024, eight powerhouse automakers came together to form a joint venture, tasked with redefining public charging in North America and removing charging as a barrier to EV adoption.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated group of people spent a year laying the foundation for IONNA. Building a company, creating our own infrastructure and setting ourselves up for a banner 2025.

Step 2: The Build

We’ll keep saying it ’till we’re blue in the face…IONNA makes every decision with the driver in mind. So before our first sites went live at the end of 2024, we gave the public a chance to tell us if we were delivering an experience they really wanted.

On December 19, 2024 we invited Out of Spec and a whole host of EV enthusiasts to come to Apex, NC and ‘kick the tires’ on our first ever Rechargery. Over the span of just 5 hours, we saw 201 charging sessions and dispensed 4.8 MWh of energy.

We learned a ton but what was most clear is: when asked, the EV Community comes out.

Step 3: The Ask

This February, IONNA is celebrating two years in operation and we’re asking the same questions we’ve always asked. Are we still giving you the charging experience you want? Even after rapid expansion, are are still providing quality at scale?

On Saturday, February 7, IONNA is opening every Rechargery door to the EV Community and asking you to come kick the tires once more. Stop by for a quick charge, join in on one of the local EV meetups, and enjoy discounted charging (at select locations).

Without you, there is no IONNA network.
