Q1: Relationship with your peers

A Friend You Can Talk to Will Give You Emotional Support

  • Takano
    Takano

It's been more than five years since we joined the company, but do you still meet up with your classmates?

  • Tokuda
    Tokuda

I meet up with my classmates quite often! Sometimes we go out for drinks and talk about work, and sometimes we play futsal together on the weekends.

  • Yamada
    Yamada

I often talk with my colleagues when I go to the smoking area during my break, but we only talk about trivial things (laughs). Things like, "I recently bought XX" or "The lunch at XX restaurant is delicious." Chatting in between work helps me refresh my mind, so spending time with my colleagues in the smoking area is a nice way to take a breather (laughs). What about you, Takano?

  • Takano
    Takano

I often go to lunch with my coworkers during my lunch break! We talk about personal matters, but we often talk about work. I think both of you have felt this through your work, but Macnica has a strong culture of delegation, and you are entrusted with a variety of tasks from a young age. However, for me right now, there are many challenging tasks, and I often worry. At times like these, it is a great source of comfort to have a coworker who understands the operational work I am currently in charge of and listens to me.

  • Tokuda
    Tokuda

I really understand that feeling. When things get tough, you want to talk to someone about it. You can talk to your family and friends about your worries, but if you are in the same class as you, who understand your work, you can talk about your worries in detail, and they will understand you and give you advice. be. In particular, I often feel uneasy about what to do if I fail. When I consult with my colleagues, I feel positive as a result, and I can work hard again from the next day.

  • Yamada

Assignments differ from person to person, but because they joined the company at the same time, they often have the same worries. When I talk with my classmates, I sometimes think, "I'm not the only one who has a problem," and it makes me feel like we're going to move forward together, even if it's reckless.

Q2: Macnica 's culture and appeal

A Workplace That Recognizes and Respects Individuality

  • Tokuda
    Tokuda

As Takano-san mentioned earlier, Macnica has a culture of delegation of authority. What I heard from the HR department during my job search didn't match what I experienced after joining the company.

  • Yamada
    Yamada

I agree! Macnica has a culture where it's normal to entrust young employees with big tasks. Immediately after joining the company, I was in charge of VPN security products that enable remote work and responded to technical inquiries from customers. However, in my second year at the company, I was given the mission of launching a business utilizing a new product that we had just started handling. Launching a new business meant I was involved in sales promotion activities alongside sales, so it was a new challenge for me.

  • Tokuda
    Tokuda

Soon after joining the company, I was put in charge of a business with a large transaction amount, and I strongly feel that I have been entrusted with work of great responsibility. What I strongly feel about being entrusted with work is that I am never left to my own devices. They don't just leave work to their subordinates; my superiors and seniors keep a close eye on me. They read all my emails with customers, and if they think something is about to develop into a problem, they immediately intervene. They encourage their subordinates to take on challenges in order to grow and find their work rewarding, but I'm very grateful that they also help out when things get really tough.

Aside from the delegation of authority, the corporate culture I've noticed since joining the company is "open, flat, and fair!" Having a culture where you can say what you want to say, even to your superiors and seniors, I've realized once again how amazing it is since joining the company! I can express my desire to do this without hesitation, and I can immediately seek advice if something is difficult. Being able to say what I want to say and work in my own way is one of Macnica 's attractions.

  • Yamada
    Yamada

I feel like they have created an environment where you can work comfortably. I think one of Macnica 's defining features is the strong vertical connections between superiors and seniors, as well as horizontal connections between colleagues at the same time.

  • Takano
    Takano

Macnica has many unique employees, but one of its great things is that it's a workplace where we recognize and respect each other. I don't feel stressed because I can work freely without having to harbor my own feelings.

Q3: Inspiration from my peers

Synchronous Success Motivates Me

  • Yamada
    Yamada

Synchronization is a good existence that can work hard.

  • Tokuda
    Tokuda

That's absolutely true! As salespeople, we are expected to achieve numbers like sales and the number of new deals we uncover, but when my peers achieve better results than me, I naturally feel like I can't let them beat me! In my department, there is a peer who is always at the top of the department in terms of the number of negotiations with customers, and when I hear that figure announced in front of hundreds of other employees at the monthly meeting, it really motivates me to work harder! Of course, work isn't about winning or losing, and the external environment differs depending on the department, so results aren't something to compare, but seeing my peers' success can also motivate me to work harder.

  • Yamada
    Yamada

It's inspiring in a good way! I'm sure you both know that Macnica is a company that gives new opportunities to people who achieve results and are highly motivated, and the other day my colleague appeared in a Macnica business video aimed at outsiders. Seeing him speaking confidently in a PR video for a company with sales of one trillion yen made me proud as a colleague, and it gave me even more energy to think, "I want to become a person who can be as successful as him!"

  • Takano
    Takano

Recently, a salesperson from my same year group achieved great sales results and was recognized in front of all the employees. I think that motivated everyone who was there. Many of my same year group members are very ambitious (laughs).

  • Tokuda
    Tokuda

It's important to grow through friendly competition! Rather than making weird comparisons and holding each other back, we should help each other improve. My classmates are friends with whom I can share my worries, but I also want to inspire each other in a good way, hone my skills even more than I am now, and continue to grow!
