Global Employees

  • Planning to achieve goals
  • Ambition to expand possibilities
  • Passion for global work

The reason why global employees are able to maximize their work performance is because we have an environment where they can make use of their diverse backgrounds.
Macnica 's major strengths are its global solutions, "trust"-based team management, and aggressive stance of dealing with new technologies beyond the framework of a trading company.

Q1: What prompted you to join the company? Reasons

Expand Your Potential and Grow

  • Marana

We'd love to hear what led you to join Macnica!

Before joining Macnica, I was involved in project management for the development of cameras for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) at a Japanese automobile manufacturer. However, Macnica is a company that provides cutting-edge solutions to customers in a variety of industries, not just the automotive industry, so I decided to join the company with the hope that "I can put my experience to good use here" and "I can further expand my potential."

Macnica is a very attractive company for employees who want to achieve something through their work. I've been with Macnica for eight years now, but before I joined, I wanted to work hard in a team that could work globally from a young age. Macnica does a lot of business with overseas companies, and has a Macnica culture that trusts its employees and entrusts them with challenging work, so I remember feeling during my job search that "here I can work globally and grow tremendously at the same time."

Macnica is the perfect company to make Su's dream come true!

That's right! What was also appealing about the team I was offered was that it provided an environment where I could utilize my Chinese, English, and Japanese skills.

  • helicopter

Indeed, there are quite a few positions at Macnica that require communication in languages other than Japanese.

  • Marana
    Marana

I also feel very fortunate to have been able to join Macnica! Macnica is a global company that uses cutting-edge technology to solve global issues, and employees come from a variety of backgrounds, yet they all get along really well. I'm very happy to be able to work here.

Q2: Impressions of Macnica and its culture

Trust-based management

  • Sue
    Sue

Marana mentioned that Macnica employees get along well, and since joining Macnica, I've also found it to be an open company where it's easy to talk to your superiors and colleagues. What impression do you have of it, Heri?

  • helicopter

There was one thing that really surprised me when I joined the company. It was something that was unlike anything you'd find in a Japanese company, in a good way! Before joining, I imagined that everyone would come to the office at the same time in the morning and leave late at night, but that wasn't the case. Since telecommuting is available to maximize work performance, I feel trusted, and it motivates me to work harder.

  • Marana
    Marana

Macnica has a ``Trust'' culture of trusting its employees. I also work based on a plan that I have created to achieve my goals, and I am left in charge of the details of the work.

  • helicopter

This is truly team management based on "trust." I'd like to ask you all, do you have any difficulties with communication? Macnica is a global company, but many of our employees are Japanese, so I'm very curious about how you communicate with each other on a daily basis.

  • Marana
    Marana

There is a language barrier, so I am constantly thinking about how to resolve any misunderstandings with my team members and try to put into practice any good ideas. As a result, we haven't had any major problems.

Sometimes I don't understand what the other person is trying to say. As someone from China, Japanese communication seems to me to be ambiguous, and there are many times when I don't know whether the person is saying "Yes" or "No" to a question. So, if there's even the slightest bit of ambiguity about the other person's intentions, I try to confirm that my understanding is correct.

Language and cultural differences are inevitable, so it's important to find ways to bridge those gaps.

  • Sue
    Sue

You're right. Does your team ever read the booklet that lists Macnica 's core values, "TEAMS"?

  • helicopter
    helicopter

We read through the document in groups and regularly discuss with our colleagues how we understood it. By confirming Macnica 's unique values and having all employees share a common understanding, we can all exert our strengths in the same direction. This is extremely useful when we work as a team, despite being born and raised overseas and having different backgrounds!

Q3: Future outlook

More Global, More Innovative

  • helicopter

What potential do you see in Macnica?

  • Marana
    Marana

Macnica 's strength lies in its position as a "hub" that connects suppliers and customers through its wide-ranging global network. I believe that it is this strength that will enable Macnica to continue to grow as a company.

  • helicopter
    helicopter

I agree! I feel that Macnica 's main value is building a pipeline between customers and suppliers, that is, between Japanese companies and overseas companies. Japanese companies face many barriers, including language barriers, when expanding overseas, but Macnica has business connections with companies all over the world and can act as a bridge between Japanese and overseas companies, which is of great value to customers and suppliers.

  • Sue
    Sue

I agree with both of them. I feel that one of Macnica 's strengths is its ability to bridge the gap between Japan and other countries, such as the language barrier and differences in business practices. Macnica is already a top-level Japanese semiconductor trading company, but I think that in the future it will expand its business even more globally and grow in size as a company.

  • Marana
    Marana

I would also like to emphasize that "our willingness to take on new technological challenges" is one of Macnica 's strengths! Macnica is also a company that goes beyond the framework of a trading company, developing a variety of products. For example, in the AI project I am involved in, we are developing monitoring technology to automate plant cultivation. We are using AI to efficiently grow crops that are difficult to grow. Macnica is also proactive in creating such innovations through in-house development.

  • helicopter

We look forward to seeing Marana's team change the world!

  • Sue
    Sue

Macnica provides an environment that makes it easy for us, people born and raised in different countries, to take on the challenge of realizing something new, so I want each and every one of us to work aggressively to bring about innovation!
