Q1: What prompted you to join the company? Reasons
A Company with Attractive People and Work Style
-
Tajima
Why did you both choose Macnica as new graduates?
-
Oyama
The deciding factor for me to join the company was a female senior employee I met during the selection process. She seemed to shine brightly, fulfilling the three criteria I looked for when choosing a company during my job search: "variety in work," "a sense of fulfillment," and "a company where women can continue working for a long time." I thought, "I want to become a member of society like her!" and decided to join the company.
-
Takahashi
Like Mr. Koyama, I was attracted to Macnica 's senior employees, which was what made me decide to join the company. The people I met during the selection process were really nice, and I was also drawn to the company's atmosphere, so I honestly thought, "I want to work here!" The interviewer was also very friendly, and I could tell he was trying to bring out my true self, so I felt like I could work as myself at this company.
-
Oyama
Why did you choose Macnica, Tajima-san?
-
Tajima
Before joining Macnica, I worked in sales at a logistics company, and although I enjoyed the work itself, it was quite busy... I wanted to do a job that was rewarding while also having a fulfilling private life, so I decided to change jobs to a company that emphasizes work-life balance.
-
Oyama
And that's how you met Macnica.
-
Tajima
That's right. A recruitment agency recommended Macnica to me, so I went through the selection process. During the interview, I spoke with the HR person and became convinced that "At this company, I will be given a great deal of discretion, and I will be able to do rewarding work while also having a fulfilling private life!" I am now able to devote sufficient time to raising my two-year-old child.
-
Takahashi
Work thoroughly. Enjoy your private time on the weekends. This is what makes Macnica unique. I think Macnica is the perfect company for people who want to enrich both their work and their private lives.
Q2: What is rewarding about your work?
Only as a Team Can We Overcome
-
Oyama
Tajima-san, how do you like working at Macnica?
-
Tajima
It's very tough (laughs). Logistics management is a constantly changing business, so we need to respond appropriately to the situation. In particular, when a decision is made at short notice to ship a product on the same day, we need to quickly coordinate with internal and external parties. However, the sense of accomplishment we get when we overcome a challenge as a team is one of the rewarding aspects of this job.
We in the Logistics Management Department are the anchors that carry the "baton" passed on by each department to the finish line. Thanks to our sales and engineering teams winning business and our product operations team working hard to negotiate delivery dates, products can arrive at Macnica 's warehouse and be shipped. We work as one team to get to the finish line in the shortest possible time. -
Takahashi
Macnica is a company where the idea of "working together to achieve goals" is deeply rooted in each and every employee. When I was in charge of product receiving, I was pressed for time every day, as I had to respond quickly to ensure that product shipments to customers would not be delayed. Even in such situations, I remember feeling a great sense of accomplishment from working together with my team members toward our goals. Although much of my current report creation work is done independently, I often discuss with my superiors and colleagues how to create accurate reports in the shortest possible time!
-
Tajima
Even if you work alone, it's great to have an environment where employees can easily ask for advice!
-
Takahashi
When do you feel your work is rewarding, Mr. Koyama?
-
Oyama
There are many times when I feel rewarded. For example, when I can see my subordinates growing, or when we achieve our goals as a team. I also feel a great sense of accomplishment when I participate in projects that promote internal reforms such as improving work efficiency.
-
Takahashi
The project activities bring together the best minds from various departments.
-
Tajima
I also participated once six months after joining the company, but I felt it was a difficult job because in order to move the discussion forward, you needed to understand the operations of the entire company. What do you find rewarding about project activities, Mr. Koyama?
-
Oyama
It's a place where we can convey our voices to other departments as we fight on the front lines and reform the operations of the entire company. Also, as Takahashi-san said, I learn a lot by interacting with the best people in each department, and it inspires me to think, "I can't let myself be outdone." I would like to actively volunteer for future projects when they are launched.
Q3: Future outlook
Aiming for Brighter Individuals and Organizations
-
Oyama
Can I ask about your future goals?
-
Tajima
I was promoted to a managerial position last year, so my first goal is to fulfill my duties in a management position. As a member of Macnica, which will continue to evolve, I would also like to support the logistics function, which is the core of the business, and contribute to the company's growth.
-
Takahashi
I would like to be able to handle a wider range of tasks. Since joining the company, I have been assigned to a specific supplier manufacturer, and currently, I am able to work efficiently by becoming familiar with that supplier. However, I believe that in the future, I may be given the opportunity to be entrusted with tasks related to new supplier manufacturers. I would like to increase the tasks I can handle and continue to grow so that I can be active no matter which team I am assigned to.
-
Tajima
Takahashi-san, you have a strong desire to grow! As a manager in an organization, I also want to create an environment that promotes the growth of our members. In order to quickly make new members of our department effective and improve team productivity, we will create a system and structure to efficiently convey the knowledge and know-how of veteran employees.
-
Takahashi
Tajima-san, you are also thinking about the growth of your team members. I feel a little embarrassed to say something so bold in front of you two managers, but I would like to be able to not only do my own job but also support my team members. In the future, I would like to become an excellent manager like you two!
-
Oyama
I'm very happy to hear such words, but I also believe I have a lot more to grow. I became an assistant manager this year and have come to realize that I am far lacking in both skills and experience, so I want to develop a higher perspective and the ability to see things from a broader perspective. I also aim to create a "family"-like team where each employee helps each other overcome difficulties and achieves well-being through their work.
