Today, we're expanding access to the Live Now beta to everyone.
This experimental feature lets you add a temporary LIVE badge to your avatar, helping others discover that you're currently live-streaming on Twitch. They can click it to land directly on your stream page.
Other social apps punish links — we think linking out should be easy. Live Now is part of how we're making that happen.
While in beta, Live Now is currently limited to Twitch links. Support for other streaming platforms may follow as we learn from the beta.

This release focuses on fixing bugs and improving the stability of the app. We also fixed an issue some of you reported about the app locking up while watching fullscreen videos.

We've upgraded our Age Assurance system to comply with upcoming laws in Australia and other regions, and to restore access to people over 18 in Mississippi.
Plus, we fixed some bugs and laid the groundwork for improved "who to follow" suggestions in the near future.

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.
Loving the new components! The updates to the theming section look great, too. It's crazy how easy this platform brings changes. I feel like every time I step away for a week, I come back to something better.

Despite it having the most followers of any platform for me, Twitter is converting at lower numbers than EVERY OTHER social media platform I'm using (Facebook, Threads, Instagram, Bluesky).
i think what defines bluesky is your ability to craft the tone and content of the conversations you want to have, it’s like real facilitation
aside from blocking, you have:
- detach quote
- hide reply
that surely is hampering engagement, strictly speaking, but it significantly raises the quality

I hate this status update, but I need to give it:
We are working to deploy an update to our location detection that we hope will solve some inaccuracies. It should roll out in the next couple hours.
I can only use Bluesky now on my home WiFi since it looks like my cell provider routes through Mississippi servers at some point.
This is the dumbest timeline.
Unfortunately, Bluesky is unavailable in Mississippi right now, due to a new state law that requires age verification for all users.
While intended for child safety, we think this law poses broader challenges & creates significant barriers that limit free speech & harm smaller platforms like ours.
With legal challenges to this law pending, we cannot justify building the expensive required infrastructure.
For now, we have made the difficult decision to block access in Mississippi.
