For the Summer Games, one athlete representing Singapore first competed at the XIV Olympiad London 1948, taking part there in the sport of athletics. At the Games of the XVII Olympiad Rome 1960, Howe Liang “Tiger” Tan became the first athlete representing Singapore to win an Olympic medal of any colour, capturing silver in the men’s weightlifting lightweight event. At the Games of the XXXI Olympiad Rio de Janeiro 2016 Joseph Schooling became the first athlete representing Singapore to win an Olympic gold medal, competing in the men’s swimming 100m butterfly event. For the Winter Games, one athlete representing Singapore first competed at the XXIII Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, taking part there in the discipline of short track speed skating No athlete representing Singapore has yet won an Olympic Winter Games medal of any colour.
Singapore did not take part in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The NOC's last Winter Games appearance was on debut at PyeongChang 2018, where short track speed skater Cheyenne Goh finished 28th in the women's 1500m event.
