At Beijing 2022, Austria's seven gold among 18 total medals was its best Winter Games performance since 2006 in Turin. Alpine skier Johannes Strolz was the NOC's only multi-gold medallist in Beijing, claiming victory in the men's Alpine combined and mixed team events. Fellow Alpine skiers Katharina Liensberger (one gold, one silver) and Matthias Mayer (one gold, one bronze) also claimed multiple medals in Beijing, as did ski jumper Manuel Fettner (one gold, one silver). Fettner's victory in the men's team large hill in Beijing at age 36 years and 242 days made him the oldest athlete from any NOC to win an Olympic gold medal in ski jumping history. Austria also performed strongly in snowboard in 2022. The NOC won gold medals in women's big air, men's snowboard cross and men's parallel giant slalom, as well as a silver in women's parallel giant slalom, to finish equal first on the snowboard medal table alongside USA.
