I named it Buma, and what's exciting is that I'll be building it in public with ChatGPT, 100% transparently. 👇 more details: Problem: Do you find it tedious and time-consuming to manually create internal links when writing blog posts? It can be so challenging for us to navigate through our entire list of articles and determine which ones to link to. Solution: So what if there was a product that could automate this process with AI? Imagine this, while writing a post, a modal pops up with indexed related posts to suggest internal link insertion. That must sound cool huh? ICP: SEO agencies, and companies that want to make a significant impact in their SEO efforts. The MVP: Considering the user base, I'll first land it on WordPress as a plugin. I really hope business owners realize that relying on AI chatbots for customer service is not enough. It's frustrating to talk with a bot only to find out that it cannot answer my queries. I'd prefer to fill out a contact form and wait for 24 hours for a response from a human.

🧵 Ever wondered why the domain names you look to register are so expensive? I've been exploring the domain investment for more than 8 years and found some interesting insights. Here's a thread summarizing what I learned. 2/10 Domain investors often lose money on 99% of their domains. To turn a profit, the domains they do sell must be sold at a premium. It's not about greed, it's about business survival. 3/10 Let's imagine you're a domain investor. You buy 50 domains for $500, hoping to sell them for $500 each. But with a typical sell-through rate of just 1%, you'd be lucky to sell one domain per year. 4/10 So after Year 1, you've just covered your initial investment by selling one domain. After Year 2, you've made a mere $10 profit after renewals. The odds are not in your favor. 5/10 It simply doesn't make sense to sell a portfolio of domains for cheap. The only way to lower prices would be if the sell-through rate increased, which is a risky bet for any investor. 6/10 If you lower the price, would more domains sell? Would those put off by a $5k price tag buy at $1.8k? It's a tough call and a risk many investors can't afford to take. 7/10 This doesn't mean all domains have to be expensive. There are still domains available at a lower price, considering there're many new TLDs to come up with nice combos. But if you want a specific name that's taken, be ready for a premium. 8/10 Remember, domain investing is a business. Like any business, it needs to make money to survive. If it doesn't, it goes "kaboom". 9/10 The cost of holding a domain indefinitely is actually much greater than just renewing it for a few years. This is one of the many complexities in the domain investment business. 10/10 Whether you're a domain investor or a buyer, understanding the dynamics of the domain industry can help you make more informed decisions. OpenAI has recently banned numerous Chinese accounts. Living in a country where Google, Twitter, and ChatGPT (and many more) are all inaccessible makes it really challenging to build a global business. I do hold onto hope that someday this will change for the better.

I received a rejection from the Y Combinator today, but I wasn't surprised. If a self-taught guy from China gets approved on the first attempt, it's unfair to those who either graduated from prestigious universities or worked at FANNG. Work harder, and I will be there someday!

Just spent 2 hours combing through my RSS feed - came out feeling like it was all a waste of time. It's surprising to see how much noise there is in the tech space. The majority of the products were superficial, simply labeled as AI. Many of them are merely wrapped in a GPT API, sporting dull interfaces. What we need are a select few - 100 AI products that truly solve our problems, instead of an overwhelming flood of a million options. Quality over quantity. Interestingly, it seems only 20% of these products command 80% of the market. The rest? They're struggling just to stay afloat. Reminds me of what Warren Buffet once said: 'You only know who's been swimming naked when the tide goes out.' Are we in a tide of technology that's about to recede, exposing those without real value? Only time will tell.

One paying customer churned today, so I sent an email asking how we can improve and hope to win him back someday. I thought there might be missing features or bugs causing the churn, but it turns out that it's the customer hadn't generated any sales. That's a global challenge!

Today I sent out an email to all EarlyBird users informing them of our pivot, I was feeling so sorry. But the reaction from our users is surprising, here's a piece of them. They brighten up my day.
