Return Items

If you wish to return some products, you can bring them to a Yamato Transport office or convenience store, or have them collected by a delivery company. This page describes various return and cancellation methods.

To return items:

  1. Go to Your Orders and select Return Items.
  2. Select the item you want to return and the reason for the return.
  3. Select return type.
  4. Select your preferred return shipping method.
    Note:
    • Due to system maintenance, return shipping by Yamato Transport cannot be selected on Mondays from 2:45 a.m. to 5:15 a.m. Please complete the return shipping procedure at Yamato Transport (pick-up and delivery to the sales office), FamilyMart, and PUDO after the system maintenance has been completed.
    • If you do not see the following options during the return process, they are not available.
If you would like your items to be collected

  1. Select Pick-up (no need to print return label). Select your preferred collection time, date, and address, then click CONFIRM YOUR RETURN.
    Note: Please make sure you enter the correct address for the driver to collect your package. If you choose pick-up, you cannot drop off your package at a convenience store or office. Please specify whether the collection address is your home or workplace.
  2. Check the collection date and time on the confirmation page. A driver will pick up your package directly from your address. The driver will bring a shipping label for your package, so you do not need to print or prepare one.

Note for customers using home pick-up services:

  • Please make sure your item is properly packed and ready before the scheduled pick-up time.
  • For “Pick-up by Yamato Transport”, customers are required to be presence therefore please package the items and wait for the driver to collect them.
  • If “Pick-up by Amazon” is available at your address and selected as your return option, contactless pick-up is supported. Place your package at the doorstep of your address so it is accessible for collection. You may leave your package at your doorstep with a clearly visible note labeled “Amazon Return” so the driver can identify it without contact. Amazon Driver will not pick up any unattended return if there is no visible note labeled on the Package.

Important: Do not write on or affix the note directly to the product’s original packaging.

If you would like to bring the items to a Yamato Transport branch

  1. Select Drop-off at Yamato Transport’s transportation center (no need to print return label) and click Start the return process.
  2. On the final screen, click Display information required for returns.
  3. Bring the packaged item to a Yamato Transport branch along with your smartphone.
  4. Scan the QR code using the terminal installed at the storefront.
  5. Ship the package.

Note: If you are unable to scan the QR code, enter the number and password listed below the QR code into the reader.

When bringing to FamilyMart

  1. Select Please bring to a designated store or PUDO locker (no need to print return label) and click Start the return process.
  2. On the final screen, click Display information required for returns.
  3. Bring your packaged item and smartphone to your nearest FamilyMart store.
  4. Use the multi-function copier storefront terminal to scan the QR code and print out a receipt.
  5. Ship the package by presenting the receipt to the cashier.

Note:
  • If you are unable to scan the QR code, enter the number and password listed below the QR code into the multi-function copier terminal.
  • Please note that some stores may not accept packages.

When bringing to PUDO

  1. Select Please bring to a designated store or PUDO locker (no need to print return label) and click Start the return process.
  2. On the final screen, click Display information required for returns.
  3. Bring your packaged item and smartphone to your nearest PUDO.
  4. Scan the QR code with PUDO and place your package inside the box when the door opens.

Note: If you are unable to scan the QR code, enter the number and password listed below the QR code.

When using SMARI
  1. Select Bring to SMARI Box (Installed in Lawson stores or some Keio line stations, no need to print return label) and click Start the return process.
  2. On the final screen, click Display information required for returns.
  3. Bring the packed product and your smartphone to the selected nearest SMARI Box.
  4. Scan the QR code on the SMARI Box terminal.
  5. Put the product in the mailbox on the front right side (sliding door type) of the SMARI Box.
Note:
  • The SMARI Box can only be used to return products.
  • SMARI Box can only be used for returning the product, if there is indication of “SMARI box” in the return procedure and cannot be used otherwise.
  • The SMARI Box has two slots. When returning an Amazon item, please use the mail box on the right side of the front (sliding door type). If you choose to drop in the left slot, it may not be delivered correctly.
  • You can use this if the return item’s package size (L+W+H) is 100 cm or lesser and can fit in the opening (30 cm x 45 cm) of the SMARI Box.

Cancelling returns and changing return methods

  • To cancel a return: Click Cancel Return from Your Orders.
  • If you want to cancel the return method: Similarly, click Cancel Return from Your Orders. Then go back to Your Orders and select your preferred return shipping method.
Note:
  • You will not be able to cancel through Amazon if you have already requested a collection. If you want to change or cancel your pickup date or time, please contact the Yamato Transport Service Center (0120-019-625). If you are not present for the collection, Yamato Transport will leave a collection attempt notice. If you would like to have your item picked up again, please contact us using the contact information on the collection attempt notice.
  • Before you return items on which you've saved personal information, such as laptops, cameras, or other electronic devices, erase this information completely.
