Viatrovych currently serves as a member of Ukrainian parliament. He recently co-authored a bill on the “Changes to National Minorities' Rights” which was mandated as part of the accession talks to the EU but he did include the following “none of these innovations will apply to Russian as the language of the aggressor state, and that this decision will apply indefinitely rather than for five years, as the government had initially planned.”
