Very impressive mod in scope. Unfortunately, an XP system that you use to buy weapons and perks is the opposite of what I want out of a Duke Nukem mod. It was a bummer to discover that you couldn't play the new and revised levels without that stuff; I play retro action games so I don't have things like that tacked on.

THIS is the definitive way to play Duke 3D. Calling it a mod is so reductive! It improves on the original game so much that it should be considered a remaster. The biggest addition is the XP system. You gain xp points by killing enemies, points that you will spend to buy upgrades and gear, such as new weapons and perks. Everything else has been overhauled as well, from the graphics, to the props in the classic episodes, which have been reworked to fit in well with the new arc "The New Invasion".
You can play as 5 characters, including the super hot Bombshell. I am not fond of the Blade character rip-off, but I just ignore him and his episode.
There are 4 new episodes in this new game and they are all great, especially the fourth and final one.
I didn't mention that you don't need to own a copy of the game, i.e. you don't need to buy it since every classic episode+the expansions+the new episodes exclusive to this game are all available from the get go.
Just download it and boot it up.
Take that Randy!

A total revamp of Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition that includes new episodes, new weapons, enemies, and a few new playable characters including Bombshell from canceled builds of Duke Nukem Forever. There's even a mode that turns the game into a Roguelite with tons of randomly selected maps, much like the Attrition mod.

It's finally completed on November 2024 and eats the 20th Anniversary World Tour for lunch. Never underestimate the fans.

There are some cool ideas, but I can't stand seeing real world logos inside a DN game. Apart from this, I don't really like the Blade character rip-off. This mod takes the everything but the kitchen sink approach, though not as extensively as Grezzodue, which is garbage. This one, while not garbage, could be so much better without the aforementioned stuff. Also I DESPISE the second "Episode" of the new ones. This has the potential to be the Project Brutality for the Duke, but we are not quite there and I suppose we'll never get there, because this mod's goals are completely different

Kind of underwhelmed by this. I was sure this was going to be a full episode, instead it was just 4 gigantic maps that is labeled as an episode. This game also features Bombshell from Ion Maiden as a co-op companion (you can also swap to her and she has a different loadout) but she sounds and looks nothing like Bombshell from that game, instead just being a genderswapped Duke Nukem. The voice acting from her (have no idea who it was) sounds really amateur and I cringed at a lot of her dialogue. The levels were too big for there own good, usually filled with just emptiness that really made this boring a lot of the time. The tougher monsters this mod do provide a good challenge, in co-op. It's complete bullshit when you're facing them alone, which you will be doing for 2 of the 4 maps.

Not going to rate this because I only played it for like 30 seconds. I was excited to check out the new episodes and the improved level layouts for Duke It Out In DC, but first I decided to refresh my memory of Duke3D by trying out Episode 1 with one of the new characters.

This is like a parody of modern shooters. I drop into Hollywood Holocaust and am immediately greeted by friendly NPCs running around screaming, giant enemy health bars and a bizarre Halo-esque radar taking up 1/3 of the screen, coins dropping from enemies to use in the in-game cash shop???? I just can't.
