Starship Troopers TC

Released

A mod for Duke Nukem 3D

Taking place after the first film, you play as a veteran Mobile Infantry Elite Commando who generally goes into missions alone, rarely going into with actual backup, on Arachnid planets. Your first mission begins with escaping from Starhip Sparta, before landing to Kaliatho. The objectives were either to rescue officers, to investigate facilities that have lost contact, or to hold off against Arachnid assaults. The TC has new planets. They are Kaliatho, Gamma, Planet 3, and more.

For the longest time, this was Duke3D's best mod and the closest to the movie having its own videogame at the time. The games much like other Build Engine games except there's objectives like rescuing soldiers, exploring locations, and fighting off bug hordes within a timer as well as new features like controllable machinegun turrets and AI allies. Basically, stuff that's become pretty common in the modern FPS.
The levels are huge and the new enemies are very well made and look much better Duke3D's aliens. Of course, they are alien bugs, most of only have close-range attacks but usually come in packs and will kill the player quickly.
Weapons are mostly re-skins but altered so that they don't feel too much like the original Duke3D arsenal.
The TC does have problems with glitches and the music turning off when you pause, reload, or save. It's also recommended you don't play it off the Eduke32 Compilation as there's a bad glitch where some of the bugs become berserk and unkillable and can get even halt progress in worst-scenarios.
