Friends, this photo is of members of my family walking in the streets of Monastir (now Bitola, Macedonia) before WWII. Only my grandfather's cousin, Rachel (second from left), would survive the war. Rachel recently turned 102 years young (!!!). I am so lucky today that she can share memories of Monastir with my own children. I'm doing everything I can to preserve the smiles of those in *both* photos- please help me in documenting, through music, Jewish culture from Monastir by supporting my newest endeavor, The Monastir Project. Please consider donating (even the amount of a cup of coffee!) for me, for Rachel, for all those who came from Monastir before us, and for all those in Bitola today working to keep Jewish memory alive there. You will be helping to save part of a culture. Wow. Learn all about it here- JUST ONE DAY LEFT to help make it happen!! Please support and share widely in this final countdown!
