When your sister is texting you about a woman in her 30s who has died of a heart disease…and ends it with “and of course she has the vaccine”. And it takes everything I have not to start the inevitable argument about actual science vs whatever YouTuber she’s been listening to in her “research”. /1

I’m so tired of the “What radicalized you?” question. I’m tired of it because so much of what’s considered “radical” is just basic empathy and regard for human rights, taking a stand against obvious fascism and speaking out when people lie and defend cruelty. That shouldn’t be “radical”.

Saw an acquaintance on Instagram complaining about all the cancelled flights and praising a specific carrier for still having a flight to get him off to (yet another) holiday…and I can’t get over the arrogance it takes to think even a blizzard should not be allowed to inconvenience you. /1

2/ I get being upset about cancelled flights. I’ve had that frustration. But you’re mad that people aren’t putting you , themselves and others at risk because you had plans to be on a beach by a specific time? And all because of a storm that we all knew has been coming for over a week??

3/ Some people live such sel-centred, heavily curated lives that I honestly believe they’ve lost the ability to mentally or emotionally process the possibility of anything interfering with their plans, requiring a changed schedule or in any way denying them what they want, when they want it.

It’s been this since 10:30am this morning. No sign of stopping.

Whilst I was in church this morning, James and Chester were braving a run down by the lake - knowing it would only get worse in the afternoon, so this was a Chester’s one chance to get some exercise today. I wish I could stand the cold like he does. #DailyChester

Grateful to those who came to this morning, carrying the music, the readings and the liturgical roles so that we had a service to livestream. Glad we were able to end and get home before the storm grew so much worse. Very glad to be home now
