Find her short stories! The Left Hand of Darkness is a slow burn, for sure. But find a short story collection and do some wading! Just a suggestion. Many of her short stories introduce you to the same universe Left Hand is set in, which is a bonus.

It’s like the Indian equivalent of a frontier western, only instead of a reclusive horse rancher and his loyal (but squirrelly) Native American wife, it’s about a reclusive mountain man/dog breeder and his loyal (but squirrelly) Malaysian wife. And a missing person mystery, too.

Catching up with the Malayalam language Indian mystery drama EKO (on Netflix). Gorgeous misty hillside exteriors and an unusual plot involving intimidating trained dogs and a missing breeder. Really have no idea where this is going and eager to find it.

Willow woke me from bed to go potty. I didnt see whomever was in all black standing by the bushes but she did. When she barked, they screamed/stomped on purpose and scared both me and her so bad that we both took off like greased lightning back to my apartment like a Scooby-Doo chase scene.
