Duke Nukem 3D feels like the next step in the evolution of Doom I, II and 64. The greatest improvements being the existence of the Z-axis/free aiming, new and creative weapons, and dedicated melee and jump buttons. But don’t worry, you’re still kicking butt, picking up color-coded keys and finding secrets in labyrinthian levels. The gameplay feels really varied and exciting with different enemy types and flashy weapons. The levels take you to cool locales like space. If you like the original Doom, you’ll definitely love this game. It’s like Doom but more. I really appreciated the ability to turn off the adult content as I don’t really wanna see a lot of that stuff. If the game didn’t have that, probably wouldn’t have played.

A very mixed-quality port with some decent QOL improvements, but really shoddy optimization and visual/audio updates. The bonus "World Tour" levels don't make up for the strange lack of classic expansions like Duke Caribbean: Life's A Beach, or Duke it Out in DC; especially considering those were included in the long-since unlisted Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition.
Still, it's playable, and it's still Duke Nukem 3D, but it's not the version I'd recommend if you can help it.

(Played through all four episodes, including the new Alien World Order episode. Date refers to when I beat the new episode.)
This version had the potential to be an S-tier remaster in the vein of the various Nightdive remasters of boomer shooters (Doom, Quake, Rise of the Triad, etc). But it falters due to questionable decisions like weirdly colored lighting, updated Duke Nukem lines that sound awful, and rather poor optimization.
We lost Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition for this.
You'd be better off getting a used PC copy of the Atomic Edition and playing it through eDuke32 instead.
Thanks Randy Pitchford.
