With your Washington County library card, you can read and browse current magazines and newspapers online or in your local branch. Your library card also provides access to historical newspaper archives through online databases.

To read current and archived Minnesota Star Tribune articles, use your library card to access:
- Star Tribune – Image Edition: Read full-color newspaper pages and articles published from 2008 to the present. Image edition of newspaper updated daily with a 7-day delay.
- StarTribune on NewsBank: Search print and web archives from 1986 to present.
- StarTribune on ProQuest: Find articles from 1986 to present.
- Historical Minneapolis Tribune (1867-1922): Search for articles and digital reproductions from 1867-1922.

If you are not onsite at a Washington County Library branch, you can access the latest news, features, and commentary from The New York Times:

- US Newsstream: Find newspaper articles from hundreds of papers from around the United States.
- Minnesota News Sources: Read articles from the local and state-wide newspapers, including the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Star Tribune, Duluth News Tribune, and Rochester Post-Bulletin.
