A 24 year old on brain-disrupting hormones for 2 years ends his life in a treehouse after being denied the right to wear a French maid’s outfit with cat ears at his job at a church, unless he wore coveralls over it.

Joshua A. “Nomad” “Naomi” Link was a 24 year old gamer who had been hired to work as a custodian. Though initially accommodating, the Lutheran church refused to affirm his gender identity of French cat-maid, and asked him to wear appropriate clothes to work.

The Links said Naomi was fired from her job as a custodian at St. John Lutheran Church in Granite City because she wouldn’t sign a document agreeing to wear a shirt, pants and shoes to work instead of a French maid outfit with cat ears, a tail and stocking feet.

Also known as “nomad hunter,” Joshua had begun taking the titty skittles at age 22, in 2022, along with his older brother “Sophia,” who had also realized he, too, was trans during the pandemic.

According to Sophia, cat-maid outfits were key to Naomi’s expression of identity. That was all she would wear.

His parents claimed to be affirming, but seem to have had their own doubts, as Lutherans who had had to stop going to church when their two sons decided to do the proverbial.

The Links said they loved their child and supported her transition, but now that Naomi is gone, they feel most comfortable using the name Joshua with male pronouns.

The Links said two private meetings with church leaders turned ugly after the leaders began reading Bible verses and implying that Sophia’s behavior was wrong. “At that point, the whole family stopped attending services,” Kevin said. “We started watching them at home.”

The parents now blame his employer for his choice to insist on going to work in costume, followed by his choice to self-harm.

The Links said they believe Hale and church leaders are partly responsible for Naomi’s death because they showed little empathy or concern and gave her an ultimatum that led to a mental health crisis.

An upstanding lawn maintenance technician and recovered landlord weighed in and said that asking someone to wear normal clothes to work is simply not what Jesus would have done.

“People deserve to know when those who claim to represent Christian values fail to uphold them, especially when the public continues to support such institutions financially,” said Kevin, 62, a former property investor and landlord now in lawn maintenance.

This was despite the fact that the Lutherans attempted to accommodate the drug-addled mentally ill man’s weird sex thing he wanted to do all the time. They tried to reason with him for a year.

Hale said church leaders had multiple conversations with Naomi about appropriate work attire for a year, at one point discussing compromises such as her wearing coveralls over the French maid outfit.

They tried to explain to him that it was not about invalidating his cat-maid gender.

“Frankly, the wearing of a French maid’s costume, and working in stocking feet, is not only unhygienic, it poses a risk of injury when handling equipment and abrasive cleaners,” Hale wrote in one letter to the Links.

In the beginning, she wore traditional men’s clothing. It is unclear when she switched to the cat-maid outfit.

In a last-ditch attempt to avoid mental deterioration - stopping the drugs was off the table - they tried desperately to get the cat ears prescribed by a doctor.

No matter how bad it gets, no matter how much you lose, no matter how emotionally dysregulated you become relative to your pre-trans baseline, they will not suggest stopping the hormones once you have started them. Stopping the hormones is never suicide prevention. The hormones can only help, because the treatment is actually giving you what you think you want, so you can experience feeling accepted and supported, in the hopes this will relieve psychological distress. It is not medical care, so medical harms are disregarded.

In fact, the sicker you are, the more society is convicted for the minority stress it has inflicted upon you. If you do give in and give up, well, what a damning indictment of how trans people are treated. Weep for the marginalized and pray for tolerance. Pay no attention to their doctors, who prescribed the hormonal medication that ruined their mental stability and amplified their obsessive and impulsive tendencies by blunting insight and distorting mood.
