Some Connecticut colleges and schools have announced they will be closed Monday as a major winter storm is expected to bring up to a foot of snow on Sunday along the coast and 12 to 18 inches inland. In anticipation of the storm, Gov. Ned Lamont asked residents to stay off the roads Sunday into Monday to let more than 650 plows and their crews deal with the roadways. Parking bans abound as towns and cities are preparing for an extended period of plowing during and after the storm.
More than a foot of snow is likely across much of Connecticut from Sunday into Monday. One spot that may end up with less is the shoreline, where some sleet may limit snow totals to 8 to 14 inches.
