REGAN VEST is a nuclear-protected bunker located 60 meters underground in Rold Skov. It was to be a civilian place of work and residence for the Danish government, royal house, etc. in a military emergency. From here, the civilian crisis management of Denmark would take place. Areas for the plot where the bunker was to be located were purchased in 1961, and the finished bunker was taken into use in 1969. As the city grew, and the demands to the Civil Defence increased, a decition were made to expand the existing bunker and in 1971 the bunker got enlarged with extra 7 rooms. The bunker were taken out of service in 1993, from then up until 1999, it was used by the DCD for training of their smoke divers.
