Alright. So since 2025 is about to come to a close, I feel like starting a new series named “SpecWatch Recaps”. To put it simply, it’s an annual series where nearly every end of the year, I recap several media I’ve watched during a certain year, be it cartoons or movies. However, this series is gonna start off by recapping loads of media I’ve watched for the past three years, so this means I’ll have to split it into two parts. Only one time’s a charm, I suppose. Donkey Kong Country (1997-2000) For those who are familiar with this show, Donkey Kong Country is a CGI-animated cartoon that was based on the video game series of the same name, and aired on Teletoon of Canada and Fox Family of the United States. It ran for 40 episodes from August 15th of 1997, to July 7th of 2000. Hey. So I was inspired by @LunaticLemons’ BFB Rewatches and I decided to rewatch Brawl of the Objects and see if it held up or not. Also, I chose to watch the 10 remastered episodes, so apologies to any of you who were expecting me to watch the old versions. :’( Anyways, here we go. BOTO 1: How It All Began So guessing by the title alone, this is pretty much the episode where “it all began”. Looking good so far. We get introduced to the characters and whatnot, a host named Controlly appears and devises a race to the finish line to see who’s the two team captains, and yeah, that’s the gist of it. Seems simple enough. If there’s anything I can commend the episode for, it’s that the humor is somewhat unique compared to other object shows, especially Hot Dog knitting a yarn-based vehicle. It’s random, like its progenitor, Battle for Dream Island, except it’s also charming in a way. And even today, I was still impressed by Baguette’s French language, as it really proves that Antony
