The Eastern European settlements from WW2 didn't disappear, they just at best built new houses on the old plots.That's just how single family housing looks there.

There was an official (as in, sold, it's even on Steam) WW1 game on GEM engine called Battle of Empires : 1914-1918, but it was in that weird period of Men of War history where they thought making it Commandos was the greatest idea ever and aggresive splitting into DLCs didn't help so it fell fucking flat.
