Greed Monger - A Crafting Focused Sandbox MMORPG
by Jason M. Appleton (F&AM)
Am I still Posting Updates? I guess so!
Greetings everyone,
I hope this message finds everyone doing well.
The crypto bull market is in full effect at this point and things are going very well. I can't wait to complete the refunds and put this all behind me once and for all. Id love to be able to just issue ETH refunds to folks but the transfer fees alone would likely be more than the majority of the refunds.
Would you believe I still dream of building a game like this? After all of the hell that this project brought me, it's still something I really wanted to do and never was able to bring to fruition. There may be a chance that I actually put together a small team within the next year and begin building this exactly as I originally envisioned it.
I still want an Ultima Online like game but in Diablo 3 style graphics and perspective.
The closest thing I've seen to launch to my original idea is something some of you might really love. It's called The Sandbox. It's all on the ERC-20 blockchain. You can buy land you own for life, all verified on the blockchain and then build whatever you want!! People buy and sell land like anything else and they are doing pretty well with it. You can build in game assets and sell them to other players, you can rent your land to people and frankly, I believe the land parcels in this game are going to go through the roof in value over the coming 5 years so if you're a hobbyist just looking to spend hours creating and having fun on something your spouse may not yell at you for putting too much time into, this could be it. https://www.sandbox.game/en/
I've been dabbling in the NFT scene recently and it's absolutely fascinating what is being done. I would say though, be very careful because when the market concludes this bull market I think a lot of people will be holding NFT's at a loss for some time. Some will continue doing well but most are just speculative junk items in my opinion.
Quite frankly, being in the cryptocurrency space for the last 3 years has really changed my life in so many ways I can't begin to explain. But this damn Kickstarter game. Always in the back of my mind.
Just know that as soon as I exit my crypto positions, these refunds will be completed. It's really difficult to cash out what I've been accumulating for years to complete this know when you know it could 5-10x sooner than later.
If you aren't into crypto yet, maybe consider looking into Cardano (ADA). It's been doing really well and something I've researched, accumulated and covered since December of 2017. There are still some major milestones to be reached which will potentially push the price up even further, so its worth you looking into. Not financial advice at all, just pointing you in the right direction.
In any case, you guys have never left my thoughts and this year will find this whole thing concluded once and for all. Thank you for being more than patient.

Thanks! I'd back your next project too. (nothing wrong if project fails, thats the whole idea of kickstarter, sometimes its success - not everytime.. i've backed many projects much, much worse than yours :D )
Is there a way to unsubscribe from your blog, here?
You can refund me in ADA :)

"I still want an Ultima Online like game but in Diablo 3 style graphics and perspective. " This is what I've been waiting for. I've been following a few games like this in early access. Wild Terra 2, Fractured MMO, and apparently Lost Ark. Also there's a blockchain game that is influenced by UO and the art style is looking amazing, Ember Sword. They will use NFT for cosmetic items and possibly land parcels.
But yeah if you do something top down it might be easier on the budget, but I def think we need more good top down MMOs, skill based like UO, smooth like Diablo or other top-down arpgs. Options are so limited now. Albion Online, which I just find clunky. Legends of Aria, again it's not as smooth as an arpg. Need something a bit faster paced.
That's my two satoshis. :)
What's the chance of getting put on that refund list? I missed the initial announcement because it went to a defunct e-mail account.
You can refund me in monero if that helps.
